Jeffro, I wasn’t trying to eavesdrop, but I was saying something to Anthrax and noticed what you wrote to him. I wanted to tell you that based on my belief as a Christian, God will thank you and love you when you get to heaven because you love Him, not based on how many people you convert. My belief is that I am a child of God and as His child, He simply wants me to love Him. I don’t have to prove myself to Him. I think the more I love Him and get to know Him, the more I naturally become like Him, but that is not based on the good deeds I do. I could never do anything good enough to earn His love or his thanks, but He chooses to love me anyway.
It’s ok, everyone makes mistakes at times. You might want to go back and correct yourself though, just so people know that you know it isn’t in the Bible. What is the book of prayers by the way? I had heard that quote from the Alcoholics Anonymous book, but I do not think I have ever heard of the book of prayers.
Jeffro, you replied in your own shout box. I wouldn’t have seen it if I didn’t come back to say one more thing to you.
First of all, I read your reply and respect it. I wasn’t saying that you have to decide who gets into heaven, I was just using that as an example to say, know what you believe and stick with it. You don’t have to believe what I believe about heaven, just know what you believe.
Second, you just said that the Bible says something that it does not say. The AA book has the quote that you used. It is not in the Bible. People will not take you seriously or trust what you say if you state something as fact when it is not fact. Just be careful. If you are going to be so strong and passionate about your beliefs as a Christian, then you are representing Christians everywhere in the eyes of those who see what you say. If you are caught saying something untrue, then people may choose to believe that all Christians lie. Once again, I admire you and I just want to encourage you and maybe help you to grow in your ability to share God with others.
Jeffro, I will tell you again that I admire your passion and your desire to act on that passion. Know what you believe and don’t be afraid to stick to it even when you people get upset with you. Do you believe that someone who does not believe that Jesus Christ is the one true savior can go to heaven? You said that you believe that, but then you told someone that you did not believe that they would not go to heaven because they did not believe in Jesus. The world will seek to catch us in things like that to say that we are weak or that we don’t really know what we believe. You can disagree with someone while still showing them love. I am not afraid to tell someone that I believe they will go to hell if it is the truth. As long as you seek Him and let Him guide what you say and do, you will do wonderful things. God bless.
