Oh yeas, in case you wondered why I changed my username, it’s because my daughter has been calling me Mummy Fairy all day as she’s been dressed as a fairy - even went to the zoo dresses up - kids eh?!

I know what you mean - I also never would have believed my life yould be like this. When I find out how to send private messages I’ll give you my email address as I’m not sure I want to make it open to all. I’m 44 and was born and raised in London. I’ve been living in Germany for a few years now. I have some American friends here, so at least get a chance to speak natural English from time to time. It’s nice to talk to you, S

Hi Petunia, thanx for your reply. Yeah I agree; it’s nice to know you’re not the only one and I’m sure it’s not just us. Do you know how to send a private message here? I can give you my email if you want to chat now and then. Ignoring the hurt is not so easy. I have a very busy life and many hurdles, so sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming, but you just keep going I suppose. Children keep you busy and having a lot to do alone is a kind of ‘occupational therapy’ if you know what I mean. Then again, it’s not nice to have no family, especially when your children see their friends with relatives. For example; we live in Germany and Tuesday is ‘Einschulungstag’. My daughter starts first grage and it’s celebrated in a big way here, with the whole family celebrating - in situations like this ignoring it isn’t easy - but we are strong for our children aren’t we? Where are you located and how old are you? (if you don’t mind me asking, if you do then it’s ok).
Kind regards, Shameem :-)

Hi Petunia,I can empathise with you as I’m in a very similar situation. I’m 43 and have a little girl too. I’ve done all I can for others and have no family either. I worry about what would happen to my little girl if anything happened to me. I’m British but I live in Germany now (long story!) We all have our stories of how our situations came about, but what I want to say is; if you need a friend I’d be very happy to get to know you. Is it possible to send a private message here so that I can give you my email address or you can give me yours (if you like). Where are you located? Would be nice to here from others like me!
Shameem :-)
