Hi I’m Ricky, also known as Rick, Richie, Rickcoon, Rickola etc. I sing and play guitar and keyboards and bass and melodica tambourine. I have a band called Duresse. We just released a CD called Elate that you can purchase at CD Baby.
I used to be in a band called Wheat. Over the course of nine years we made three albums and toured all over the US, Canada and Europe. We got to play with some cool bands liek The Flaming Lips, Built to Spill, Mogwai, Death Cab for Cutie, Low, Archers of Loaf, the Blake Babies, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Liz Phair, and a host of others. (oh yeah .. John Mayer … ) We also got to be on the Conan O’Brien show. And the Carson Daly show, which wasn’t as cool, but the cool thing about that was it’s filmed in the SNL studios.
After having spent the better part of the last five years playing music full time, I have had to come to grips with reality for a little while and buckle down and get a full time day job. Luckily when I was in college this thing called the internet was starting to get a buzz, and I thought, hmm I should learn a thing or two about that …
Currently I work at CNET Networks, where I am a developer/content producer for the Online Courses. Say hello would ya !
