  I suppose it depends on how close the man is to each of them. If he’s really close to his mother and the daughter-in-law doesn’t get on with her then it could cause problems in the marriage. Or the mother-in-law could end up feeling pushed out of her son’s life by his wife.
  
  I’m guessing that’s how your mother-in-law feels, she’s worried that her son is going to be so caught up in his relationship with you that he won’t have time for her, so she figures if she forges a friendship with you then she won’t lose him. Maybe that’s why she isn’t nice to you - because she’s jealous that her son has someone other than just her in his life.
  
  Maybe if you talk to your husband about it and the two of you can reassure her that he’s still her son and he still loves her even though he’s married to you. I hope you work things out :)

  Speaking honestly, as a woman I would rather date a virgin than a player. Men who are less sexually experienced and less confident with women tend to be easier to get on with and treat women much better than guys who have loads of one night stands.
  
  The woman who went off you when she found out you’re a virgin doesn’t deserve you and you can do better than her. Please try not to think of yourself as a failure, it’s better to take your time and find the right person than to jump into relationships and one night stands because you feel pressure to do so.
  
  You aren’t alone in feeling this pain, anger and loneliness, it’s something that a lot of us go through and I was feeling the same way not so long ago. It was seriously affecting me and my doctor was fantastic about it, as was the counsellor she referred me to. I know a lot of guys are reluctant to try that sort of thing, but I think it would really help you.
  
  I don’t know of any magic quick fix for the way you’re feeling, but I do know you’ll feel better if you just hold on and talk over your feelings with someone with experience of how to help you.
  
  Remember: sometimes you have to take your time in order to get things right. You are in no way a failure. Stay strong and I hope you find a special girl soon :)
