  I’m not sure what sixth form is, but you should definitely pursue something you’re interested in. However, if you’re close to being finished with what you’ve already started, it could be beneficial to finish, then go back and pursue what makes you happy.

  It surprises me that no one has mentioned filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). It really is the first step in getting any financial student aid.

  Go to the financial aid office at whatever school you’re planning on attending and a counselor will be able to walk you through filling it out and filing it. Other than getting student loans through a private institution (which I recommend as an absolute last resort), this is the document that will determine what kind of money you can have access to. Its mostly important for the grants — the big checks that come in that you never have to pay back.
  
  Anyway, the very first thing you need to do is talk to the financial aid counselor and ask about the FAFSA. All of my financial aid comes from grants associated with filling out this form. I take a full-time credit load (12+ hours — usually I average about 16 - 18), and still have about $1500 left over after tuition and fees. Its a pretty good deal for ten minutes spent filling out a form!

  For me it was always that I’ve seen the wake suicide leaves behind it — the pain, the sorrow — and I would never want to inflict those things on another person. And really that would be the only outcome of the event once I’d ceased to exist…all I would leave behind was that which I was trying to escape, and instead only passed it along to people I had cared about.

  Eat a good portion of nuts as well — they have a huge amount of healthy fats in them that you need in addition to the proteins from beans that you’ll need.

  You may want to contact a housing counseling agency. Call (800) 569-4287 and see where they can point you. A lot of options are out there for rental assistance. I know when I lived in New York I had some issues with my roommate and couldn’t pay the entire rent myself one month when he disappeared, and there were options to get a kind of one-shot deal with help paying rent.
