  Jelly, what a nice story.
  
  My mother died 10 years ago this month. My Dad, a young 79 at the time, became a favorite of many of the ladies in the retirement community my parents retired to. On May 1 of the following year, he too got remarried and at 88 (89 next month) will be celebrating his 10th wedding annversary with his Fall wife.
  
  Jelly, I too am a good bit older than my ex-fiance; I’m 13 years older. I’m glad you found love.

  Soon? No, not soon. Perhaps later, but not now. Love for me, at my age, is precious and if love finds it’s way to my door, I’ll open it. But for now, I need to do some house cleaning on me, and work on getting the love I still have for her out of my heart.
  
  For whatever reason, it wasn’t within her to give what she took. We’ll both move on and find what we each need.

  I told her I loved her everyday. Each morning before I left for work, I would walk to her side of the bed, bend over, kiss her as she slept and simply say “I love you”.

  Yes, it was “absolute proof” that it was a one way relationship and that she didn’t give a hoot about me. When my car was finally repaired, and I was on my way back to the house we shared, she called and told me I needed to pick up some things for her. She added at the end of our conversation that “guess what, you’re cooking too when you get home”. After not having any food in the apartment to eat while stranded and walking back and forth to work for 10 days, she who had been home on disability said I got to cook. One might have thought she would have appreciated my hardship and would have prepared something for us, instead of expecting me to cook.
  
  I’m not one to complain, but I am now. And I rarely complained to her about things in our relatiopnship; I simply sucked it up and held it in. After her behavior tho, I lost my temper, told her I couldn’t stay there anymore, put alot of my clothes in bags, and left, leaving everything else there.
  
  Haven’t heard from her in two weeks.
  
  She’s got a profile posted on an adult site and is going her own way.
  
  Thank you. Sometimes, the pressure just builds up. I probably should have complained to her sooner about how one sided I felt the relationship had become instead of having to blow a cork. No, nothing violent. Just an abrupt departure from our 8 year relationship, leaving everything behind
