  no man, to rip a dvd and remove any protection, including region protection use DVD Shrink, you “re-author” the disk to only include the main movie so that the movie can be smaller and dvd shrink automatically compresses the dvd so it will fit on a 4,5GB disk. after you ripped the movie you can convert it to any other format like divx or xvid, you can do this using DVDx. DVDx Ultra edition has the feature to remove protection, but using the standard DVDx with AnyDVD will also work. DVD Decryptor also works well but is a bit out dated. This is about the best choices out there! and oh CloneDVD works well, but only with anydvd, and only to make 1:1 copies!
