lol! and they’ve paid big bucks for all their pedals too - a lot of effects, and now they’re getting some they don’t want! haha
I shouldn’t laugh, but yeh, that sounds like it’s possible as it’s clear as day when it’s on low. I’ll test it when he’s awake… orrrr I’ll test it on loud now, wake all the men and stop them snoring :D

Just an idea, Could it be he has a hairline crack in the speakes? That would account for the cracklin, and distortion, funny… How many guys pay big bucks for distortion amps and you get one without even buying lol,

lol yeh it’s impossible to find parts, altho ebay does come in handy ;o)
i don’t know what’s up with the fender amp, it is absolutely fine, until you put the volume up high and the sound is broken and distorted. He can still use it, he’ll just have to keep it on low on stage, which means he won’t be able to hear himself play (eeek!)

scarily, remember how we were talking about amps last night? well my boyfriend came back today from their out of town tour, and his fender amp has broken!! He was looking for a fuse to use in one of the spare marshalls, but just thought it was an odd coincidence when we’re talking about amps, the same time (pretty much to the hour) his amp broke!

Hey, nice to hear from you! I play and teach, keyboards, guitar abd bass.also am a voice coach. In high school played in school band. My Dad insisted I take other instrumments, so i opted for the clairnet:( OMG, I hated it. The wooden mouthbit was a pain and always tickled my lips lol. Soon talked my way out of that one, lol.I live in pa. Yes, I teach in our local mall, but do more in home student teaching. They range from 8 to 88 lol.Hard to get the smaller ones to focus due to there inability to sit still:)I find you either have it or you don’t. All can learn to be robotic players, however the good ones as you know just have that built in rhythm, that just needs brought out.Very good! you know of stelly, and stevie etc. There are so many greats to admire:)Well hope you get back soon friend. Enjoy the chats xxxxx

hey seas, lol everyone seems to send their replies to themselves instead of me! Jeff Beck was in the yardbirds right? I loved them for a time! Stevie Ray Vaughan was a true blues inspiration, on parr with jimi hendrix.. at times he was better (as blasphemous as that may sound lol!) I have heard stelly, I can’t think how significantly his music impacted me though, I guess he is in there with the classical greats, but there’s just something about his music that makes me feel like I’ve heard it before, but from someone else..
I can read music yes! My boyfriend is in a band, I’m very proud of him as they’ve just been signed and are on tour with Neil Halstead at the moment (used to be in Slowdive and Mojave 3). Their vinyl was produced by Ulrich Schnauss, who is actually one of my most favoured electric musicians. I did consider doing it too, but I am much more an observational music lover than a participator. Knowing how to play just makes me appreciate when others do well. I’m rather sterile when I play, much like reciting it back, I don’t really have that oomph which can make something that’s good, great (does that make sense?!). My boyfriend, bizarrely, can read music, but when it comes to the guitar, he needs it written down for him as chords. I can read music, as I was classically trained on the harp, and piano. I taught myself the guitar, but after playing classically in an orchestra, it wasn’t particularly difficult to pick it up, and I had a lot of friends who helped me at the time. Thinking back, I have always surrounded myself with people who love and play music!
There’s something about music. It’s essential to our living, like colour and smells and textures. I think I have an upper hand though, from my training, and also I have 2 younger brothers who are both fabulous musicians, and one is graduating next year from the music college here as composer and jazz player (trombone)
Anyway I have to go out, thought I’d pop back to see if you’d replied and you had so thought I’d repay the favour! You’ll not thank me for it though as it’s an essay! haha
Before I do go though, what level do you teach music? And where are you in the world?! Do you do private lessons, at a specialist music school or both? Also what instruments do you play?
Anyway I really do have to go now! Talk soon and take care xxx

sorry i left without saying goodbye earlier, lovely talking to you and thanks for chatting! coldplay’s new album is their best, before Viva la Vida, I could tolerate them but they’ve excelled recently.
I do like maroon 5 but they’ve been overplayed here, and sometimes (not often) if a song is saturated everywhere it loses it’s effect!
Nickelback were probably the first “rockish” band I liked, I like your style!
I use a website called torrentazos.com It’s spanish, but once a week I’ll trawl through it and download everything and anything that’s new. I’ll listen to it and if I don’t like it, I’ll bank it on a cd for later, which I can either delete if I don’t like it further down the line. I also constantly flick through myspace and listen to new bands and whatever they post up. It’s nice to keep hearing fresh sounds, or even good old oldies!
Anyway, sorry again for not saying bye before! And great talking to you, hope we can swap band suggestions and tracks :D
take care and talk soon xx

wow a music teacher! you must be adored, i don’t know anybody who doesnt love their music teachers!!
I love all kinds of music, my taste is extremely ecclectic. As long as it doesnt really hurt my ears and make my nose bleed then I’m open to it… altho I must say the white noise that My Bloody Valentine do (their music holocaust) can be quite inspirational, as after 10 minutes of the noise, the structure seems to come through and your mind can construct amazing senses from it.
I don’t really pay attention to the charts, I am all about new music and new artists. Sure there are my favourites like Coldplay, Radiohead, Newton Faulkner, Ray Lamontagne, Brian Eno… the list is actually quite long! I think the best artists that I’ve really taken an interest in lately are Bon Iver, and I love Fleet Foxes too. And of course I adore all teh Wainwrights, Louden and his children!
I am classically trained though originally, I’ve let my music go lately, but it’s something I will always take an interest in and enjoy. It’s like an extension of the soul to a degree. Humans without music is like birds without wings

forgot to say, the orange amp i have is about 3 years old, but the company has been around for ages. Most the musicians I know rate them a lot more highly than the older brands, for their style and quality of sound. Mind you, you can’t beat a good marshall!

I’m not from the states, no, I’m a brit. I love alternative and ambient indie - shoegazing! If I’m totally honest I’m not very good at the guitar, my forte lies in the piano and harp. My fella is much more muscially capable on the guitar. I can do chords and whatnot, but mostly what I can do is experimental. Accoustically I can play most things as long as they aren’t too difficult. I can’t play like Newton Faulkner, if I could, I wouldn’t be on the internet ever - I’d be showing off to everybody and anybody! lol
Marshalls! Those are the other 3 amps my man has, and I couldn’t remember what brand it was!
This is orange http://www.orangeamps.com/ best amps by far, the guys are always stealing mine for gigs which I don’t mind as I hardly use it! But still, quality of sound is incredible! :D

Orange have been around for about 40 years I think. I remember getting a leaflet from my dealer.
Well on guitars, I have a fender, and my boyfriend has a gibson. Strats are great, if you can get decent strings. I find that a good and new set of strings can make any guitar sound like it’s the best made thing on the planet (for the first few plays anyway!) The only amp I have is an Orange, but my fella has a gibson and if he wasn’t on tour with the band now I’d tell you exactly what else we have… les pauls are amazing. When I finally get myself a decent job I’ll be getting a les paul. I have my eye on a gibson firebird that looks pretty lush, so it depends on which feels better when I hold it I guess.
I have 1 accoustic, and my telecaster is accoustic/electric.
I don’t play the guitar anymore, that’s left to my man and the band he’s in, I like to sit back and admire the prettiness these days!
My accoustic was owned by a guy called Brian Eno. I’m hoping you know who he is!! I don’t know if that makes it classic, but it’s the oldest piece of equipment I own!

question for you, I have an Orange amp, it works fine for my telecaster and fender, but my friend’s amp requires an adaptor.. do you think that’s a new design addition or is it just us being technically inept?!
