  Funny, I never really thought of myself being a survivor. That almost puts another spin on this for me. I have always been worried about what would happen if I took the kids from him. I just know that he would kill himself. He just doesn’t deal with things well like that. doesn’t WANT to deal with them. I just don’t want anyone telling the kids that I am the reason that their dad is dead…cause his family would do that. I already know the responses that I am going to get for that…but no situation is that cut and dry.

  I am feeling ok about it. I don’t like that his family is still cold to me. I didn’t make him do what he did. It’s sad because we all use to be so close. I would confide in his sister and his mother a lot. And more than a couple times his sister would encourage me to leave him. But at one time, he told her that she was not to speak to me. And in his family, you don’t rock the boat. Oh well. I have been making new friends and reconnecting with old ones…so all is well.

  Not that I think that anyone that posted things on here is going to read this, but I thought that I would post a follow up. Thing are a lot better. He found himself a girlfriend and they are talking about getting married when our divorce is final. Although he hasn’t told her about what happened…and I hope it doesn’t blow up in his face. But I really think that us being together was just toxic. Maybe as long as hs stays on his medication…and tries to work through things instead of reacting, he may just be alright. We get along for the most part…so that’s a good thing. He did end up losing his job cause of another botched suicide attempt…I really don’t think that he was trying. He was telling me that he was going to do it before he did…I believe to get me to come back from visiting friends in Tampa. ANd all that was months ago, before he met his girlfriend. This all sounds like a soap opera…but I am just letting people know that I am ok. Doing well by myself too. Have a great job, and I moved back into my house. It’s a good thing (I did change the locks though…you know…just in case)

  One thing that I have found is that things usually work out in the end. It may get REALLY hard…and you may not think that you will ever see the light..but this too shall pass. You have to find someone to talk to…someone that will listen to everything that you have to say…let you cry on them, and share a few tears with you. This is a good place to start.
