  he shouldn’t stay with her if he doesn’t love her, but that doesn’t mean he should jump to you. Your friend is going to be hurt enough, and this could ruin your relationship with her. I think you should stay away from her boyfriend a while until things cool down. Later it might be okay to approach your friend and ask what she thinks about the matter.

  it is quite possible that it may have been too soon for her. maybe the initial thought excited her, but after thinking it thru a little more, decided she wasn’t ready. or maybe you did misunderstand.
  
  what you need to do is confront her about this mixed message thing. it’s not fair for her to do something like that, and if she doesn’t realize she’s doing it, she can fix it. if she continues the mixed messaging, it may be better to stop spending so much time with her, because it will only hurt you more.
  
  ending a friendship is rough. if you have to do that, then gather up all your willpower and do it. surround yourself with other friends.
  
  as for the suicide thing.. i don’t know what your situation is, but just don’t do it. you will thank yourself later in life.
  
  spend time outdoors, even if it’s just lying in the grass :)

  my ex and i tried something like this. it didn’t work. think to yourself: why are you guys taking a ‘break’ in the first place? Maybe i’m being pessimistic and things will work between you two. but you’re right, feelings get in the way rational decision making. Look at your relationship as if it was a close friends. what would you have to say about it?

  of course you want to fill that little void that’s popped up now that you’re not with this girl. give it some time. you’ll be able to get over her and then can find someone. for now, you’re right, focus on other things, like having a good time with friends :)
