2008-10-23 19:53:21 on Help me.
OMG! You MUST listen to me. Please. I have been in your shoes, and I made the wrong choice. Please let me help you not repeat my mistake. I went to a $60,000 school. Hard hard work. I was there on a grant and my parents paid the rest. I decided it was too hard and I dropped out. I had to pay back the tuition they granted me, and still haven’t finished doing so after 5 years. They won’t release my transcript until it’s paid, meaning I can’t get into another school because other schools REQUIRE a transcript from all previously attended colleges to get in. Talk about being stuck! All financial issues aside, I still think the work was way too hard, but I know that if I stayed with it, I could’ve done it and I bet you can too. Time will fly and you will be so proud of yourself. Look at it this way, if it were easy- anyone could do it. And nothing in live worth having is EVER easy to attain. If I could go back in time, I never would’ve made the choice I made. I regret it more than anything I’ve ever done and I will continue to regret it for the rest of my life. So please, do yourself a HUGE favor and stick it out. If you don’t try, you’ll never know what you are capable of, and you will always wonder “what if?”.
As far as your friends, and this I have learned the hard way too- Your TRUE friends will be there for you NO MATTER WHAT. Period. I spent so much time in school worried about my friends and social life in general. It got me nowhere. I repeat, nowhere! There is all the time in the world for fun and friends, but right now, while you are still young- is the time to build the foundation that you will stand on for the rest of your life! Don’t throw it away because it’s hard. Your parents will love and support you no matter what decision you make. Mine did. It was my decision and they couldn’t stop me. I wish they could have. Work hard, my young friend, because these are scary times we are living in, and they only thing that can’t be taken away from you is your education. Knowledge IS power. Dig down, fight hard. NEVER give up- ask for help, study more, spend 23 hours a day studying if that’s what it takes, because when you have that degree in your hands, it’s all over and you’ve won. And trust me, it’ll be over before you know it.
I’m through preachin now, and I hope you do the right thing.

he’s just not that into you. give him the space and move on with your life, then you will know the truth. if you mean something to him, he won’t let you go without fighting for you. if he doesn’t, then he’s not the one for you! let. him. go.

2008-10-10 22:05:40 on I have bulimia…I can’t stop doing it!
Man that sucks! Basically, to answer the question, I think it would help you the most to meet people who are younger than you are that are struggling with bulemia. Once you see that they look up to you, it might help you to take control. I can tell you that it doesn’t sound like a classic case, but that it was obviously triggered by this traumatic event. Talk about it with a counselor. You will have to work through this, and hopefully be able to talk about it with your sister. Good luck and remember that you can get through this!

i’ll take it!
2008-10-10 21:45:57 on So, I’m a tall, slightly-larger-than-average, strong and independent woman.
Just be confident and involve yourself in a lot of social activities. I’ve found that the people who “have it easy” arent as strong as character as those of us who have to work harder for the things they want.

2008-10-10 21:36:55 on What can be done, on a daily basis, to change the way the government works?
Aw, come on now. I guess I should have specified that I’d like to change it for the better. For the common good of the people and the planet. I suppose I’m naive and forgot that not everyone has good intentions. My bad. Want to try again?

thanks, and any idea as to why it’s put up with?
2008-10-10 21:31:29 on Losing Weight - Swimming or Running?
I think swimming is more fun, gives great results, and is low/no impact. Running can mess up your knees/ankles etc. Don’t get me wrong, both are great, but I’d go with swimming.

2008-10-10 21:21:38 on How does one become a bartender?
You could definitely start out by waiting tables at a place that has a busy bar, and after “paying your dues” for a while, ask to train behind the bar.
