  Hello carlybroken,
  
  I am just 28 years old, married, and with 3 wonderful children. I had a terrible childhood nothing with abuse but we were terribly poor and homeless at one point in time. I often felt the same way as you, wishing I was dead, or just to live in a different world. Not having many positive things to look up to or around me tainted my ideas and hope in life. I believe everyone has a purpose in life some seem to discover that purpose early on in life, some like myself very late in our time.
  
  My suggestion would be to rediscover yourself find out things you enjoy about life and yourself and work towards those things and keeping your mind focused on the positive things in life. This does not include taking one dramatic step, I can understand how difficult that can be. My suggestions is to find smaller things that you can do an enjoy take up a sport, or hobby, make that call to your parents and begin on developing a good relationship with your family.
  
  As I write this I notice another reply above about seeking a doctor, and getting on anti-depressants, but I highly suggest you stay away from any medication, but I do agree on seeking help not as much because your crazy or something, but speaking with someone to help you understand the things that are bothering you, and ways you can work on improving them. As you can see in the previous post this person is on a “4th depressant” do you honestly think that is healthy? This will lead to addiction and if by some chance you are no longer able to receive this medication, it can make you turn to other drugs, and lead you a worse situation you are on now.
  
  I really wish I could sum up a great answer for you, but I am no expert in this field, I just felt like reaching out to someone and letting them know they are important, hang in there, and someone on the other side of the internet wished you the best, and hope you can feel better.

  The sound card is the hardware on your computer which allows you to output sound to your speakers. There are generally two types. With most computers Dell, HP, Gateway etc.. the sound card is integrated on the motherboard and cannot be easily replaced, but you could shut it off and install a new sound card, if you are under warranty I highly recommend you have them take a look at it. The second is an internal sound card that is not on the motherboard, these can easily be swapped out for a new one.
  
  You can start by making sure your system is up to date by visiting http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ when prompted for Express or Custom choose Custom, under Hardware select any Audio Drivers (If any are displayed) go ahead and install them.
