I’m going through the same thing, almost exactly.
My best friend is trying to make me choose between her and my boyfriend and I’m starting to think choosing is the only way the situation will be resolved. She’s also very childish about it and I don’t see any way other way out. I hope things work out better for you.
I kept asking my best friend why she was making hassle and eventually she admitted that she did still like him. I think the ‘why, why, why?’ approach is one of the best ways to unveil that info, because you come across as concerned and trying to address the problems you’re having instead of as nosy.

You’re not too young. Love doesn’t care about how old you are; if you feel it you feel it. I agree with those who say make sure your boyfriend feels the same way (though you suggest he does as you say you’ve discussed it).

My boyfriend is my best friend’s ex SO JUST KILL ME NOW AND GET OVER IT, but they only went out for a few weeks as ‘kids’ (when they were 12 or 13 or something) so it’s not as bad as it sounds. I met him when she came over to mine for a sleepover and she had the audacity to call him who she sees him all the time instead of talk to me who she sees nearly never! So I nicked the phone off her to tell him to GO AWAY but really quite fell for the voice at the other end. We spent a year getting to know each other by text and emails and stuff, then finally agreed to meet. After two dates he asked me out; we’ve being strong ever since. Yay! :D

Prom / disco, yeah. Upbeat songs for the groups of friends who are just having a laugh with the odd slow one for the couples XD
Switchfoot is a good idea, problem is I’ve never listened to any of their stuff; do you know what song might be good for a ball?
