I need some help. I really screwed up my life. I went to a very competitive college and I am abo…
You make a very valid point that many people feel throughout high school. Let me tell you about me. Maybe it will help, maybe it won’t. If it doesn’t sorry for wasting your time. The first three years of high school I was kind of like you. I wanted friends and felt like I didn’t have any. But deep down inside, I knew I had friends. I was a scholar athlete in high school. I had both the sport and grades going for me. So naturally you would think that at lunch I would be able to hang out with the jocks or the smart kids or both. The truth is, I wasn’t with any of them. When I went with the jocks, the kids I had grown up with all of my life they treated me like garbage. I had to squeeze into the table and I just found it miserable. The smart kids, forget it. I would sit with them and they would smile at me but I knew or at least thought that they were faking it. So I said forget it. I went my own way. I sat with a new group and I was their friend. And in return, they were mine. In high school, I didn’t go out to parties on the weekends during my first three years, I stayed home and played video games. I was a lame person. But I enjoyed it. I had fun. Do what you enjoy. Be friendly to everyone. You never know what people will have to offer in the future. Try to be funny too but don’t be ridiculous. Just act yourself. You know how the world works, you know how people act. Treat them as you would like to be treated. Be a friend to them and they will be a friend to you. At the end of my junior year, I started doing really well athletically. This boosted up my popularity rating in high school. But I still stayed with the same people I was with before and they respected me for this. i could have left them but then I would have just your next typical jock. Senior year, I was friends with everybody. I had nothing to lose. I was friends with the jocks because, well I was captain of the basketball team, a three sport athlete, they wanted to be my friend because it made them look better. But when they made fun of the kids who weren’t athletes or “losers”, I went to sit with those “losers”. The friendship with the jocks was superficial anyways. Now I was friends with the so-called “losers” which they weren’t. They just enjoyed different things. I am rambling, getting off topic. Be yourself. Be friends to others and you will make a friend in return. Don’t worry about all the high school pressure. Just laugh at it. Smile at people too. You will be amazed at what that will do. Let me know how it turns out..

What is the topic for the science project? I remember I did a science project that had to involve simple machines and I built a dog feeder that the dog could operate himself. Basically you design a platform with the food and then a lever at the bottom of the structure. When the dog’s paws press down on the pedal/lever, using simple machine pulleys and string, the top platform bends downward on a hinge, down a funnel into a bowl. It was pretty neat.
Another idea. If you are in biology or something, you could back a circular type cake. Using different colored frosting you diagram a cell of the body or a protozoa. Something simple. Then you explain each part, then you give the class a piece of the cake when you are down. Very simple and cost effective plus it is very interesting. The teacher would love it I bet.
I this helps, let me know how it goes :)
