  We were just sort of talking about relationships and I was saying about how I was frustrated and lonely and so she offered to set me up with a friend.

  Are you still in love with your ex girlfriend? Maybe that could be a reason why you didn’t want to meet someone else. If not, well it’s normal to be scared. Love is a big commitment. If past relationships haven’t worked out for you then yes, maybe you are afraid that things may go wrong again. But you shouldn’t think that way, because why waste all this time being afraid of love and aching it when you can just go out there and love for yourself? Give yourself a chance.
  
  And listen, whatever you do, don’t be afraid to put your problems on anybody. People want to help, so don’t put yourself down. Maybe you aren’t ready to be with anyone at the moment, and you just have to be patient. One day someone will come into your life and when you love them, you’ll know, and you won’t be scared.
  
  If you do want to be with someone, but you are too afraid of getting heart broken or “failing”, Just think of it this way… Yes you do have a chance of getting heart broken, and things not working out, but thats the way life is, and things like that happen in life. To everybody. You get hurt.. things get messed up… but you learn. But it doesnt always happen, so take a chance! And dont be afraid! When you find someone you’ll be happy you took that chance.
  so go for it!

  Oh and remember, not everything is perfect, things will always go wrong. If they didnt, how would we ever learn?

  Of course. Some may fall in love with others who are already in a relationship. Or cant be with them because of their religion, or because that other person donesnt have interest in them. This guy is in love with me, and Im in a serious relationship.
  So yes, Its possible.
