Much like everyone else, I have a good side and a evil side,which side you will see most often, i donot know. What I do know is I hate whining and complaining.I hear enough of that at home, sometimes I need to get away from it and I can’t. Drinking is something I have learned to love to do. Perhaps I drink alittle more than I should but hey, we all do a little bit more of some things than we should. Alcohol is available to me, its the only known coping mechanism to me at this point. It numbs the brain, the the emotions, the fear, the stress, the pain, the dissappointment. I try to enjoy my everyday life, you only live once.
I am an adult, I do know that although most people abstain or drink safely, a sizable minority of the population abuses alcohol. I am aware that some vulnerability to developing alcohol related problems is conveyed genetically, and I also know some animal research has indicated that inheritance can take many forms.
Studies in mice have demonstrated
that various individual genes or groups of genes can shape very distinct responses to alcohol, such as a preference for alcohol over water, sensitivity to alcohol’s intoxicating effects, and the tendency to develop tolerance to it. So what does this all mean to me? Nothing right now….absolutly nothing, at the moment. I am going to sit back, relax, and pour me a drink.
