  you are all right. i think he can decide for himself wether he wants to go or not and he didnt want to go. its his fathers own fault because he just came and went when he felt like it and now my son has to learn to trust him again.
  if he ever will…
  he will just associate all the bad memories of his dad if he trys to force him to go…
  he tryed saying he could have 1 of his christmas presents when they got to his house but he even said no to that and id feel so bad if i had to bribe my own son!
  i dont know how he doesnt feel bad or ashamed even.
  i dont even know if there was any presents because he never got a card or presents for christmas nor his birthday and i can remember on his 5 birthday his dad took him out for the day but only to one of his mates and not somewhere for my son and when he came back i said wheres your present and card and my son said daddy said he loves me and thats all i need.

  In terms of your issue and question - Do you have a divorce decree that can be enforced in a court of law? If your ex-husband have legal rights then your child unfortunately has no rights, as a minor, in a legal situation. HOWEVER - if that does not exist, and you have been the primary custodial parent for the majority of the time, then YOU have the right (and DUTY) to protect and serve your minor child. If your child does not want to go and you feel it will harm him further, then as a mother you have a duty to protect your child.

  we were never married,he left while i was 4 months pregnant and he never even bothered to sign the birth certificate. so on my sons birth cert he only has me as a parent, he still has my maiden name aswell and not his dads or my new name
