Yes, there are consequences. I’m aware of that. But I did not agree to the terms your god set forth, just as you did not agree to the terms of anyone else’s. For all you know, the Pagans are correct. Why should I follow someone else’s rules just because they threaten me with a punishment from a god I have no solid reason to believe in?

I never said greed was a good trait. It is, however, natural. Just as most of the 7 Deadlies are. Greed, animals are greedy. They take as much as they can. Gluttony, if an animal could eat all it wanted, it would never stop. Lust, without it, there would be nothing by plantlife and pollen. Wrath is revenge, and if you slap a lion, you will feel her wrath. It goes on and on. Humans are animals, no matter how much we try to deny it. Animals do certain things naturally, and to deny nature is unnatural. To deny nature is to deny life.

You’re a big fan of free will, right?
Without the knowledge to kill, steal, and destroy… how did they have the free will to choose whichever or not they wanted to do in the first place? The fact that we have the knowledge, have the ability, and have the choice and yet choose not to is far greater than being simply programmed differently. And if God doesn’t like killing and destroying, riddle me this:

On the point of Lucifer being cast out, the point still stands. If God is all-knowing, then he knew what Lucifer would do. Through his omniscience, he knew exactly how it would happen and when. Had he wanted to prevent it, then through his omnipotence, he had the power to stop it. He didn’t. Therefore, not only did God directly create Satan by creating Azazel(Lucifer), he indirectly created him by refusing to prevent or alter his otherwise inevitable demise. And if Satan is responsible for all the evils of the world, through direct action and persuasion and such… that can only mean one thing. God, both directly and indirectly, is responsible for all evil. EVER.

The Bible is about gaining wisdom and knowledge in the realm of god and the bible. Nowhere does it condone science or philosophy in any way shape or form.

Note: One does not give themselves to Satan simply by not giving themselves to god. Wisdom will tell you, things are not black and white.

Yeckh. I’m still not into the whole cannibalism, blood-drinking thing of the Bible. I’m not into that, sorry. That and virgin sacrifices. Two things I can’t worship right there. And killing babies, that’s just wrong. God did that too, didn’t he? Back in Egypt? Yeah, quite a few times, actually. All over the world. Well, the known world of the time. Funny that an omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient being wouldn’t mention more than half the planet’s continents in his major, tell-all book.

Now please, PLEASE let’s shorten these to something more reasonable.

But aren’t you a slave either way? The slave is one who must do what they’re told, or else they’ll be flogged and killed. If the human that says “Yes, I’ll do it” is only doing so out of fear of the impending punishment for displeasing the entity that can rain down fire, throw them in hell, or banish them from perfection, how is that any different?

No, it’s similar to working for Leonardo DaVinci as an apprentice, and then having someone tell you, “Hey, you know what? You eat this olive, here, and you’ll be as great as your master.” It’s simple imitation. Or, that’s the desired effect. Even if all it does when you eat it is make you smart enough to realize you’re wearing a toga, then why is it so wrong?

God likes wisdom, maybe. But the Angel of Light and Knowledge becomes the Devil, while eating of a tree that makes you aware of the world will get you kicked out of paradise.

Lucifer, the Lightbringer, the Angel of Light. His name can also be translated to Angel of Knowledge. (Light also translates to clear, which is also synonymous with thought, thinking, and knowledge in Latin.)
And I’m not saying that he was cast out due to his position, I’m saying that in casting him out, God thereby demonizes knowledge. Quite literally, by all accounts.

Okay, taking your proposal into consideration. I’m in charge of a group, one rebels with a bunch of others, and the cops are on a donut break, etc.
Firstly, I would have made a better leader than to allow such low morale in my group. Simply making a group does not entitle you to command over it. You need to be a good leader in order to lead.
Secondly, if one of them decided they could run things better, there are many options. Let him try, and put it to vote. Propose a co-op leadership. Ask him what he would do differently, and see if you can help his frustrations.
Thirdly, with a knife do my throat, I’d easily subdue him, and get rid of the knife. But I wouldn’t imprison him, hurt him, or outright punish him. That’s not my job. That’s up to his peers to decide his punishment. I certainly wouldn’t give him his own kingdom with his own servants, and allow him to do whatever he wanted; like God did with Satan.

Besides, one major flaw. God is omnipotent. So he should have known the rebellion was coming, and done something to stop it beforehand. Or, better yet, not created Azazel in the first place.

Two points now. Yes, that was very, very long, and can only get longer if we keep this up.
Also, you don’t need to quote the Bible to me, I’ve read it four times.

So the tree is there to allow for free will, but then when they use free will, they’re punished. Hmm. Sorry, I don’t see that being the behavior of a “kind and loving” god. A kid with ants and a magnefying glass, maybe.

So? Immitation is the greatest form of flattery. They wanted to be closer to God.

Of course, it happens a lot, doesn’t it? People and angels trying to be like god, and him punnishing them for it. It’s like God is parading his almighty powers around, but then any time somone gets jealous, he freaks out. Almost like an olympic sprinter dancing around in a room full of paralyzed children, and then unplugging their breathing machines when one of them wishes they has working leggs, too.

Still, it stands. Angel of Light and Knowledge is quite litteraly demonized.

Well, you see, I’ve read the Bible a few times. Always different versions, but it’s essentially the same Bible.

A lot of what you’ve said isn’t in there; same goes for many things. The Bible leaves a lot of gray areas open to interpretation.
You said you won’t debate, so I won’t ask you to. Your opinion is your opinion, and I don’t really care what you believe, so I’m not out to change it. Think of this as an interview. I’m just curious what you think. I might state my opinion now and then, but it’s not any attempt to change yours.

Now here’s another question. I’ve never been able to find a straight answer to it. Lucifer, or Azazel, was the Angel of Light and Knowledge. Adam and Eve were punished for eating of the Tree of Knowledge. In fact, knowledge and intelligence are demonized heavily in the Bible. In your opinion, why is this?

ya, a lot of people are selfish
but to punish people in need for other people’s mistakes cant be right..
that would make you just as selfish as the people who “abuse the system”

selfishness is also the reason why there are a lot of laws and control mechanisms and entities in a democracy even to control the government..
coz they also abuse the system at times..

about the health insurance and that: i guess you already know that the US is the only industrialized country without a universal health care…

anyway you are entiteld to your opinion but i hope you gonna think about it :)

what if your parents got ill and lost their jobs and couldnt afford to buy food for you, no house or clothes or insurance if you get sick you couldnt afford the doctor..
wouldnt you want the government/other people to support your family?
or would you think “ow well doesnt matter ..let me and my family just die.. you people go and make money coz thats what you came to America for ..”

Oh…it did it for me. Okay so what you have to do is put “< b >” in front and < / b > in the back, but make sure you do it without spaces. =)

Hey there! About the letter bolding… it’s called coding or HTML or something like that. Anywho, all you have to do is put “” in front of what you want to bold and “” at the end. You can do the same for italics and underlining- just use an “i” or “u” instead of the b. Let me know if it doesn’t work out for you! =)
