2009-06-15 21:51:15 on Stolen friend and a broken heart…
This is hard. Having a more socially adept sibling can be tough.
I’m glad you’re not totally furious. That would be bad.
For now, there’s not much else you can do. Muddle through and find you’re own friends.
At the very least, you can come and rant here. Here, we are all friends.
In case you didn’t notice, you’re friend changing the subject probably means she feels bad about dropping you.
Your sister bringing it up means she meant no harm.
2009-06-15 21:44:20 on I’m desperately close to a coffin of hope.
I think a primary problem is that my dreams are too large.
There will be no perfect world.
I am just a small piece to a large puzzle. There and necessary but hardly influential.
There’s no such thing as magic.
There is no one who’s going to come up to me and tutor me to become what I want to be.
I”m not one for specifics, but a general view of my problem:
I’m socially paranoid and I believe i have APD, even though haven’t been diagnosed.
I have…an unhappy past that I cannot remember almost at all. Lucky me.
There has been a personal issue I’ve been struggling with my entire life. I had a friend I trusted enough to tell, but in the end, they couldn’t help me. But we are still friends.
THis not specifically pertains to the recent crashing of many of my long held aspirations. Many due to intellectual discussions.
2009-06-15 21:38:19 on I’m desperately close to a coffin of hope.
Sounds like a plan.
Maybe I’ll find more open doors if I look for smaller ones.
Thank you. This will work for now.
2009-06-15 21:29:57 on I’m desperately close to a coffin of hope.
Where the heck am I supposed to get a crowbar?
Or the strength to do anything with it?
For the moment, should I do such a thing, I believe I would only hurt myself.
And some possibilities have more than closed doors blocking their path.
2009-06-15 21:25:07 on I’m desperately close to a coffin of hope.
How?
Hope is a motivator, fueled by possibility.
What happens when possibility fades?
WHen doors begin to shut? and the only one opening is despair?
2009-02-10 18:46:05 on Do you guys agree with this?
I think being able to say no to friends who are doing something you think is wrong takes a lot more courage than compromising, although any amount of pressure resisted is good.
I think tempting yourself by going to the bar with others who drink too much is a bad idea in itself.
But if that’s what you’re going to do, what can I do to stop you?
2009-02-10 13:49:42 on Do you guys agree with this?
Well for some, life just means chat, getting wasted and writing in this kind of sites, help.com, imindepression.com etc.. do you understand everything? no you can’t. and all the things u believe you understand is the meaning u get that is affected by your point-of-view. good-bad, right-wrong, easy-hard for u and for others can be soo different than how can you judge them?
:)love
Wait…are you judging us for judging them? ;) I disagree with you though. Obviously you can’t know everything, but you can know enough to try to help, or criticize (in an attempt to help others realize their mistakes and change them). And you have to judge before you assist. A doctor cannot heal until he diagnoses.
By the way, I agree. Most people should be able to be interesting and have fun without alcohol.
2009-02-09 13:27:10 on here is my theory.
Shoot! I spelled ‘your” wrong. I put “you’re”. sorry.
2009-02-09 13:26:14 on here is my theory.
Obviously not. If depression is a psych. disease, then not having depression is NOT a disease.
I’m sorry for you’re friends. It’s always hard to change something that big. Similar to alcoholism. sortof.
If they truly believe it’s a psychological disease to be straight and seek treatment, go for it. I think it’d be odd, considering society and logical following of science says being straight is the natural one…but whatever.
I’m not talking about society. Society says alot of things that I don’t agree with. I say it’s a psychological disease, due to personal experience.
“coming out” is like suicide. It takes strength and weakness to do it, it take strength and weakness not to.
Suicide - Strength to live on/too weak to follw through OR strength to follow through/too weak to survive
Coming out - strength to defy others/weakness to deal and assimilate OR strength to fight in order to retain what you have/too weak to lose friends.
It all depends on your point of view.
2009-02-07 21:50:30 on hey guys can anyone tell me some really powerful songs,
depends. what kind of music do you like to listen to?
I like Enya and Copeland.
Enya: The River Sings, Storms in Africa, etc.
Copeland: Sleep, By My Side
but those may not be you’re type.
2009-01-01 15:39:08 on here is my theory.
Because I hold to the psychological disease theory. I think it is easier or harder to become homosexual depending on one’s genetics, but I believe that the final determination comes from environment.
If it’s a psychological disease,it shouldn’t be promoted through allowing marriage.
And also, I think people, in general, can have lasting relationships without marriage, so unsettling family-oriented americans is an unnecessary step.
That’s it.
In accordance with this, I don’t think any psychological institution should turn away someone because they want help to become straight.
2009-01-01 15:31:08 on Big Issues.
Yeah…some of the reports were creepy…
But other than that, I am pro-gay.
Stupid people just want someone to attack, so they target anybody different.
2008-12-30 23:55:17 on I noticed; everyone belonging to the LDS Church seem so happy?
AHAHA!!!
THis makes me happy.
I’m a mormon, and there’s a post on how happy we are! hahaha!!!!
Okay…now that that’s done:
I truly think most of it lies in self-denial. Our way of life is guilt free, although extremely hard to live fully. I try, but I’m not perfect.
In addition to avoiding nasty after effects, mormons have to find creative ways of having fun. Which we do.
You should see some of our line dances. :)
2008-12-30 22:40:16 on Big Issues.
Abortion - with you all the way.
Border - People are spooked by mexicans because there are more immigrants coming from there than from Canada. Yes, it’s discrimination. I really think it’s a little late to stop immigration, so instead they should be integrated.
Gay marriage - That’s where I disagree. I hold a different opinion on what makes someone homosexual than the general population, but that’s another topic. I don’t support them because they infringe on other’s rights. In Massachusetts, there have been multiple accounts of homosexuals making sure they would be accepted doing whatever they wish in restaurants and in churches, and in California, the launched a nasty commercial and assaulted the temples of the Mormons.
2008-12-30 22:32:50 on here is my theory.
That is wrong. I am personally anti-gay marriage, but practically any right other than that should be guaranteed.
I hold to the psychological mishap theory they ditched (DON’T KILL ME FOR IT) but there is NEVER an excuse to hurt someone or take away there property.
That infuriates me. All crimes (yes crimes) like that infuriate me.
There should never be a law hurting someone for their race, religion, culture, inabilities, or oddities.
