Firstly by piggy backing to someone else’s post you are limiting the number of members that will see and respond to your posting. Always open a new post for your problem.

If you can boot-up in protected mode there is a high likelihood that you either have a virus or a corrupted software driver. Since you can not download anything from the web I hope you already have an anti-virus program. If so have you run a scan in protected mode? If you have not found any viruses you probably have a bad driver. The only way you can diagnose this type of problem is by removing hardware via the device manager and rebooting. Since this can be a very tedious thing with an indeterminate result, I would suggest that you copy of all of your private docs and pix to a USB drive and reload windows from your system disk.

chrissynot1, if you want to do a clean install just put your system disk in to your CD drive and reboot your system from the CD drive. Then follow the prompts to install on partition C and answer yes to format the drive. You will need the 25 digit license number found somewhere on your computer…

Having worked in the TV industry Quality and Reliability lab, I can personally attest to the fact that no radiation is emitted from the front of a Cathode Ray Tube. We ran tests on all kinds and sizes. The test methods were using a hand held devise to detect x-rays and to make sure that the radiation wasn’t in a band not detected by the hand device we applied X-ray film to the front of the screen for 24 hours. I guess a problem with the memory could cause a BSOD (blue-screen-of-death), but it’s more likely a software problem. If you can start up in protected mode (press the F8 key as soon as you see the boot screen). Once in protected mode select ‘restore my system to an earlier date’. If this doesn’t solve you problem I suggest you contact who ever guided you through the first BSOD problem. If you need further help, please open a new thread. It is not good policy to piggy back on someone else’s post.

If it’s a MOV file like my Kodak, Media Player doesn’t normally play it but Apple Quick Time does. Also AVS Media Player will play many different type of video files. Both media players are free to down load. If your problem is something different please feel free to reply with more information…

Same problem - same questions, Are you using a firewall program? Are any other websites not working? What kind of browser are you using? Have you tried another browser? Is this computer your home computer? Are you wired or wireless? How did you setup/create your internet connection?

I suspect you have other problems, but if you can boot up in Protected mode (Hit the F8 key when you see the splash screen). Try to restore your system to before you tried to install the second program. If that don’t work then go to your Control Panel and try to remove both programs clean up using Ccleaner. If you still can’t remove the program you will have to find the folder under Program Files and remove it. Using this method will not remove the files in the registry so you will still have to run Ccleaner and hope it gets most of them. When you have successfully removed both files you can finally install your other program.

Most Microsoft versions come with a generic ‘administrator’ account. Boot your system into ’safe’ mode by hitting F8 when you see the splash screen. Unless the user has entered a password for ‘administrator’, you should be able to login by hitting ‘enter’ at the password prompt. Then you can go to Settings, Control Panel and Users to change the user password.

There are so many posibilities I’m not sure where to begin. If the chip doesn’t show up in either device I would assume that the chip is defective. The only way I can think of to verify that is to get another chip and see if it works. If you have an adapter you could check the memory chip in a digital camera. Your local computer store should have a way to check it for you. I shouldn’t believe they would be lame enough to charge you…

Login in as administrator and go to the CONTROL PANEL. Select Users and select modify your User name. You can then change your user privileges to Admin and you will then be able to download…
