• I am a loner and I have been a loner for about 3 years
  

  Hey, Its kind of a lot, but you know =)
  
  I was exactly like that, a loner,… kind of still am sometimes. The only advice I can offer is: like yourself! If you don’t like yourself, how do you expect others too? I always remind myself of this. I’m sure if you think about it, there is plenty of amazing stuff about you. You just need to build your self esteem up. Stop putting yourself down and don’t worry so much! I like to laugh? Do you like to laugh? If you think you’ve embarrassed yourself, just laugh. Everyone does it once in a while. On new years day I totally biffed it in front of everyone. I didn’t realize it was icy so I slipped and landed on my back in the snow. Yes, I was completely embarrassed, I actually screamed with surprise as i fell. Yes, people were laughing at me but i was laughing too! You just have to shake it off and keep your head held high.
  
  I know that it’s sometimes hard to like yourself, I’m only now learning to and I’m in grade twelve. Still learning! Just focus on all of your positives and forget those few negatives. Yes! There are more positives than negatives. Only the negatives come to mind right away because you’re always thinking about them. Most likely, you’re probably the only one that’s noticed these negatives.
  
  You’re fifteen, you still have a lot of life ahead of you, just like myself. There’s always something to live for, be thankful for your life because there are those that are definitely less fortunate than you. You should love yourself, all of yourself! Love your body! Embrace yourself, friend, and be proud of the way you look. Those who matter don’t mind, and those who mind don’t matter! If you really think you’re fat, by the way I hate that word with a passion, just try eating healthier or something and start exercising. Just running is an improvement. I mean, if it really is making your life terrible, just make it so that it’s not. I still believe that you should love the way you look no matter what anyway. You’re beautiful in your way just like everyone else is beautiful in their way.
  
  Now, as for being a loner, I’m sure it won’t be for long. I didn’t find any actual friends to hang out with until the end of grade nine, beginning of grade ten. I am also super shy and quiet around those I don’t know. Somehow, I ended up with the loudest friends of all. Just put yourself in a position to meet new people. I know it’s awkward meeting someone new, but that’s only in the beginning. Get involved in extracurricular activities. Try something new! Sports are always a great way to start friendships. Volunteering and youth groups are great as well! Oh, and you call yourself emo? I dont know whether you’re referring to the style or that you’re actually just emo..tional… but I just want to say be yourself. Don’t change your personality or the way you look just to find friends. You won’t like them and you might end up disliking yourself. You just have to have faith! Sometimes it may seem easier to just wait and wait and wait for something to come along. Well, other times its easier to go searching. If you don’t want to be a loner, dont be! Stop putting yourself in a position to be alone! I know, I know, it’s easier said than done. But really, you need to put yourself out there and just ooze happiness! Most people are drawn to happy people. Like really, everyone wants to be happy! lol If that makes sense.
  
  You just have to believe and accept yourself. I’m sure in many ways you are a good person, like I said, take note of all your positives. Don’t be negative, I don’t care if you think its impossible, NOTHINGS IMPOSSIBLE! Be positive, be happy, and love yourself! Oh and always remember, everyone makes mistakes. We’re human. You can’t dwell on all of the things you have done wrong. There’s a reason for everything. Just make sure you learn from those mistakes and don’t let them happen again.
  
  Well, i hope this helps some. If you’re stubborn, don’t be, try out some of the advice. If you should take anything from out of this, its that you’re amazing. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

  My brother was just being a little… spazzy, I guess. He didn’t mean anything of it.
  In fact, he regrets it because after I went through everyone’s advice, I decided to tease him about it. Though no one suggested I do it, it’s just the nature of my family to bug each other. He wasn’t serious at all. He hasn’t said anything ridiculous at all and I’m actually happy to say he’s a bit happier himself. He has friends now, so that actually makes me happy lol
  
  Thank you everyone so much for all of your concern and sorry for waiting so long.

  Aries, i think it’s amazing how you figured out what my sister and I have been thinking all along. I am telling my sister as soon as I can. I will also update whenever i can.
  
  And yes, I will try to put more effort into hanging out with him. Though sometimes i don’t think he deserves it… but whatever, as long as I can help.

  Oh dear lord, that is true, him saying it outloud does mean he’s thought of it before. He didn’t say it to me, he said it to my younger sister. I don’t know the details of it because my dad was furious and she was trying not to cry. But it seemed to me that he said it to win the fight or have the last say, you know.
