Chris and I have had a rough time. We closed on our house the same day we found out he had cancer. It was stage 2 and he had a mass removed from his stomache. He still has his port in from chemo and has been told that he could get it removed but we don’t have the funds to do so or for him to be able to miss work to do so. I was in a car accident and went through 6 procedures but nothing has helped with my neck/back. I am on 6 medications to help ease the pain. I was working at the time of the accident and lost my job due to the accident. The accident was not my fault but we have not had help to pay the bills or compensation. I applied for social security but the system is slow. We are struggling very much and the one thing that has been great is our 3 beautiful children. We have 2 daughters and a son. They are 11, 10, and 6. They are my pride and joy. They have had to help more around the house since I am not supposed to lift things. I try my best to push myself through the pain so my husband and kids don’t have to do so much. I struggle with not being able to be the same mom as what I was before the accident. It hurts my heart when my kids ask for simple things and I have to say we don’t have the money for it. My son just got boots and he was overjoyed. It makes me want to cry that I can’t provide what I used to or contribute to the household like I used to. We have 4 broken windows in our house and can’t fix them. We have had to put plastic over the windows until we can replace them. I found this site and thought well maybe it was a blessing I stumbled on here.
