Actually, I think it’s fairly common for teenagers to become overwhelmed and/or depressed while going to college.

I recommend you look at why you failed, and come up with a new course of action.

Perhaps you should change your major to something you would do better at. Or maybe this one failure was a fluke, and you will do better next time. Perhaps you are taking too many classes at once, and would do better with fewer.

Most importantly, don’t let this failure make you give up. Use it as a learning experience. If you feel you are under too much pressure meeting everyone else’s expectations, then let them know you have to do this for yourself and no one else. Set aside what anyone else had told you, and set the goals that YOU want to achieve.

Does your whole computer freeze, or just your web browser? Have you tried using a different web browser such as FireFox?

Try uninstalling any toolbars you have installed for your web browser. Remove any plugins, and you could also try reinstalling java.

Can you call your laptop’s manufacturer for technical support? If your computer isn’t too old, most companies offer help with this kind of thing.

Look in your Device Manager, and see if the camera is listed. If it isn’t, check the BIOS to see if there’s a section to enable/disable the camera. If it is there, but has a yellow exclamation mark or a red X on it, double click the device to read what the problem is.

Try going to your laptop manufacturer’s website and download the latest drivers/software for your camera. Then uninstall/reinstall the software.

If the problem just started happening recently, you can also try using the System Restore feature, to restore your system settings to an earlier time.

I don’t entirely undestand why your friends are acting this way. Maybe you should email both of them, letting them both know that they are equally important to you, and that their friendship means the world to you. Maybe you could all get together for lunch and try to understand whose feelings got hurt and what the problem is.

I recommend you mail her a condolence card expressing grief and support concerning her father’s death.

In the card you could write that you know it’s been a while, but you’ve never forgotten about her and wanted her to know that you were there if she needed you. Include your email address and phone number.

If she doesn’t contact you, give her a call to make sure she got the card, and see if she’ll talk to you over the phone.

That may be a good start for you.
