  Pressure of exams are always overwhelming and more so when you feel pressure to achieve. Reassure him that if he does not pass it isn’t the end of the world. No matter how hard you try sometimes you just don’t make the grade that’s the point of exams. Adding additional pressure just won’t help. Try and encourage him to give it a go and tell him it won’t matter either way, true or not. That could be all he needs. I’m sure he’s being as hard on himself with guilt and possible failure than anyone else.

  As the saying goes ” love is blind” don’t be so hard on yourself, many of us have been in a relationship that undermined our self-esteem because we loved that person so. You appear to be aware that you made a mistake which is the first step. The second is to pick up the pieces as time passes, the greatest healer! learn and love again. There are no magical solutions on these matters in life, it’s just life. Concentrate on you and getting your pride back.
