well yes, i think it is important that the child decides which gender they feel as though they fit, but if that is the case i think they should be told from the start that they are neither girl or boy and that they can decide one day if they wish.

I also think its important that the child has regular meetings with doctors to discuss their emotions and thoughts and so that they can gain a better understanding of their body and choice as i think this could save many live.

It is pretty common for intersex babies to be born and i think it would be much easier for them to be happy, whatever they decide, if people were more educated about the issue.

I myself have been very interested in this issue for a period of time and look forward to seeing what is decided in the future.

i think that it is wrong to do on a young child but i can also see the difficulties they may face especially as they reach high school. I think if they preformed the opporation or not the child would still grow up with a gender because school or clothes or even thier name would give them one.

In some ways i think it is best that a physical gender is determined as early as posible and to be honest the child need not know about it until they become older.

My friend actually has two siblings who were born without a gender but both grew up as girls, one lives with an adopted child and a husband and is happy as a woman, the other plays rugby for the england womens team and is a lesbian. I think that shows just how hard it is to make a choice over that, a baby can’t tell you if they feel male or female.
