  Im sorry for you situation. I am an alcoholic daughter. You can not force him to get sober. my mom sure has tried. Forcing treatment on someone who is not ready will not work. The first time I went to treatment, (been 3xs), I was court ordered, It was better than jail so I played the game. Got out and was drunk 3days later. On a positive note, I will agree that you should never give up on you child. Sometimes you may have to tell him you cant deal with him right now, but dont give up. My sponser tells me, “as long as you or them is still breathing, there is still hope.” My sponser went to treatment 2x and her husband 7x. everyone is different. It may take more than once,but always love him. He loves you, even when he is angery. Hang in there and know that you are not alone.

  I dont have friends to change. I only have my sponser and one other woman. I ran off my friend of 13yrs. There are only about 10 women at my home group. I have started going to 2 meetings aday but am afraid to talk to anyone there. AA does speak of a higher power, but about 2 yrs ago the group conscience decided to just use the God terminolgy. Everyone wears crosses and goes to church. That is not my style. The priest, I wish I could get over, but it was something important to me. I was in treatment for 2 day and placed on probation b/c I told someone they were intitled to their oppion and I mine. Now I feel like I cant disagree. I’m so insecure. I dont even like being looked at.

  If you call/write/email the manufactures of you wife’s med. They can usually work out a 3 month perscribion for the meds.

  My home group only talks about God. If you believe in something different, then you are not really accepted. I’m from the bible belt and went to Catholic School. The priest said something to me in the 7th grade, I didnt want to believe it and said that if that is the way God was I didnt want any part of him. I am a chronic Alcoholic. Been to treatment 3x and arrested 3xs. I rented my house out so I wouldnt loose it. I am working for the temp agency so that I am not working in my area. My mother has become good friends with my sponser of 4 yrs.
