I asked my friend exactly that question and he gave me this answer:
“It says in the bible that god created man in his own image, meaning that men and women are alike to god. Now think of a Father and Son. A Father loves his son very much and from the moment he is born trys to shape the son to be like him, i.e. he wants the son to grow up like him minus a few faults. And a son will copy his dad and speak the same and try and be like his father. And yet even though the father loves his son so very much and deeply, he still gets angry and punishes the son if he misbehaves. If this is the way a human father behaves to his son / children, and god made us all to be like him, that would describe why god punishes us when we do bad.”
I was amazed when he gave me that answer it was unexpected from a nigerian/italian janitor working in tesco’s Southend. But that just shows the brain of my best friend, hes something else.
Of course sometimes terrible things happen which are un-attributable to doing something wrong and thats terrible when it happens, and would take a better mind that mine or my friends to explain. Interesting post. - written 5 months, 3 weeks ago
