Sounds to me like you’re wallowing in your regrets. Your ex is in the past - move on! If they are the same kind of person as you say, then surely if it worked with the first one (which it must have done to some extent if you miss the relationship so much), it’ll work even better with this girlfriend because she cares more about you.
Either you had a good relationship that you left for no real reason for a similar one - in which case, get over it, forgive yourself and live in the here and now - or, you had a not-so-great relationship that you ended and now you’re in a better one with a girl who is like your ex, but actually cares about you…in which case, what’s the problem?
If you want to leave this girl, don’t do it for your ex because that will never work, but don’t avoid it to avoid breaking her heart, because over time, you will anyway if you don’t actually want to be with her.
Forget the past, move on and try to have fun with this girl.

I think approaching a cancer research charity is good idea. After all, people donate money so they can reasearch it and try to cure it - that’s all they’re there for.
I think it’s unlikely people will steal your research…especially if it gets publshe somewhere.

You definitely need to get your money back somehow, but it’s important to figure out what’s going on with your friend too. You could say you’re busy on the day now so you can’t go and need your money back, or just be straight and say that if he’s going to spontaneously ignore you, you don’t want to hang around with him or go to concerts with him.

So you’re not used to it anymore. That’s perfectly reasonable. Have you tried talking to the teachers involved at school? If they know you have a problem with speaking, they might be able to help you get around it, or practice with you to make it easier.

That’s the problem - none of them interest me! I want to go to a good one, as close to the top of the league table as possible. I get good enough grades. But they’re all so far away from home, or in cities I don’t really want to live in. Or in London, where I can’t afford to live. Now I’m moaning…there’s just so many factors to consider. It’s hard to think straight.
