  Wow, I can’t believe the difficulty you are having with your knees-is that the only part of your body that is being affected? I have talked with you before, and I do not like not knowing. MRIs are usually definitive. Did your doctor say there was any degenerative joint disease going on? Have you had a rheumatoid arthritis factor drawn to see if that might be it? If the MRI states there is not structural problem, this is very perplexing. Did you injure the left knee in any traumatic way. You say the ACL is okay. You say you have swelling, and how old are you? My ortho guy told me when I asked about wear and tear that it really didn’t make any difference what I did, that they were going to break down at any rate. The problem is pain management and swelling with activities. I would find another orthopedic surgeon that specializes in sports injuries. There is nothing wrong with a second opinion, and a radiologist viewed the MRI, did your surgeon? ANybody can have a bad day and miss things. I am concerned and intrigued. I want you to get answers so as to keep you out of harms way and to give you peace of mind. So, a second opinion is in order. You have something going on because pain and swelling are indicators of something not right. Your body is speaking to you. I know this trip is important to you, but what if you got caught in bad weather and died from exposure? You really have to address the swelling. My instinct tells me you are in good shape and there should be no swelling if something was not wrong. It is illogical. You sound as if you are in denial of some sort because you want this so badly, and I totally understand that! Please, a second opinion. Don’t risk your health and maybe your life because of this trip. That makes no sense. Where is the fire if you need to take care of yourself? KNees pop all the time with people who don’t have injuries, swelling and pain are totally different. Take care of yourself and I HAVE to know what you find out. I have dealt with four knee injuries myself and it can be life-altering. Let us know

  We all need money now. We all are in dire straits, that’s why we come here for a little levity and moral support. Unfortunately, I and neither can most of these people afford to help others out like that. Some of us are wondering where our next tank of gas is coming from and what the next meal will be. Yes, there are some who post just to get a laugh or reaction, but most are sincere and genuinely want to help. They have helped me tremendously in the past when I thought there was no hope, and I just needed to be reminded to always count my blessings, no matter how bad things got. I alway say, if you are upright and recognize the people you are talking to , then it’s all good.

  I told you about my theory-you need a MRI done to be definitive, so there won’t be any question about what the injury is-it sounds like a torn meniscus, a type of cartilage, and I will bet you a hundred bucks the doc will order the MRI and it will have to be scoped-Now, you obviously need attention before the 29th-you call his/her nurse and state that you can’t stand the pain and that you are worried that there is something seriously wrong with it-tell the nurse that it is interfering with your life,i.e. work, home,and could she possibly work you in the doc’s schedule a little earlier than the 29th-Or, if they ignore you, you can go thru the ER and tell them you injured it and cannot function at your normal capacity and that you need to see an orthopedic surgeon-the ER doc can order the MRI-don’t go to a small hospital because they usually don’t have the MRI 24/7 like a larger hospital does-Or, you can just suck it up and wait-I never liked that option-This time I know what I am talking about-I know knees!!

  i hope somebody comes back to this-I have got to ask the question-What is making all of these younger people feel so old? Being most of your ages ia a wondrous time, even though I wouldn’t want to go through it again, it is a tumultuous time, but wondrous! What is aging you to the point where you do not think your lives are worthwhile? I did not have a problem with self-esteem at your age, other problems, but not that. What can be causing this “pandemic’ so to speak of all of this negativity from the younger people-you are the future and that should make you proud because we are going to come out of this funk and you will have a wondrous world to take care of! Remember,what goes up must come down and vice-versa-don’t listen to all of the rumors and propaganda, listen to your hearts and proceed on with your life-it does sound easy onpaper-it’s hot as **** here and I don’t want to go out, but I will-making friends is hard, and now I find myself having to go out into the world and do just that-the alternative is being alone, and alone is great, sometimes, I like it for awhile, then I need a little company-talk with someone who wants to hear you, not someone who is distracted!

  I had to place my father in a”home” after he became so debilitated that I could not take care of him at home-My siblings were off making their money and building their homes, while I could not bear to leave either of my parents-it is all individualized-many different reasons-I hated my siblings for years-not because I wanted to get away, I just wanted them to understand what I saw each and everyday-it was heartbreaking, and moreso when I could not take care of them any longer-now that they are gone, I have no parents to love me and my siblings have their homes-but I do not grace their homes at holidays-they broke my heart, and probably my parents-Understood, the question is about grand-parents, either way,it is gut-wrenching, and sometimes, we have to make the hard decisions-life is not a bowl of cherries
