I am in a similar situation. I’m in a tough college and work odd jobs. School and work don’t even get my mind off of depression. It’s so difficult, and my boyfriend doesn’t seem to understand.
Medication will eventually help though. I’ve seen a big difference, but it took a long time.
Just know that you’re not alone. There are many people that love you and care about you. They may not know how to help, so you need to tell them that you need your help and then tell them how they can help you.
