2007-04-16 09:10:23 on For all those who wonder like me why we cant be rich enough to afford life.
Thanks for sharing! It got me thinking of things like how ridiculous it sounds to hear “I’ve got nothing to wear” coming from people with closets bulging with clothes, shoes, purses etc. Also reminds me of when I become far too caught up with cookbooks and gourmet this or that. It’s easy to get caught up in the search for and preparation of the next *exciting meal*, when most days, simple wholesome comfort food can be the best choice. It’s like placing 2 cookbooks side by side, one called ‘Less is More’ and the other one ‘More More More!’
2007-04-15 10:49:17 on This is my last resort in trying to figure something out that has driven me to my last nerve.
CORRECTION! I got the tunes mixed up.
It’s ‘On the Run’ by OMC
http://www.lyricsdownload.com/omc-on-…
(haven’t heard them for so long,
or maybe I haven’t had enough coffee yet!
Am I right? Is that the song you’re looking for?
2007-04-15 10:43:12 on This is my last resort in trying to figure something out that has driven me to my last nerve.
My instant reaction was the song ‘How Bizarre’ by OMC.
The words you’re looking for aren’t in the lyrics,
but ‘I’m on the run’ is said in the background, between the lyrics.
Just a wild guess, but one that’s now stuck in my head,
and it will stay that way until the mystery of the lyrics
you’re seeking are found. I sure hope it’s soon! (grin)
2007-04-13 23:31:12 on No problem my dad is home it’s ok no need to
It’s okay dear one,

thanks for letting us know that there was no problem.
2007-04-13 23:28:47 on Please tell me if i am just freaking out or what,i
Dear panickin, everything will be okay.
Is there a timer on the light?
Which light are you talking about, a light beside you while you were watching tv?
Are you okay right now or are you still scared?
2007-04-13 22:08:53 on hello im runaway soon i just cant live here any longer does anyone know a good place to run away to ?
Tundra, how can someone suggest a great place for you to hide, it might be five hundred or a thousand miles away because they don’t know of a great and safe place that might be near to you. How many miles a day do marathon walkers walk…….and how far can YOU walk in a day, and especially if it’s been a rough day and you’re tired and there hasn’t been that much to eat.
If no one knows where you live, how can they suggest something that could be helpful to you?
AND, once you take off on your journey, how will you be able to keep in touch with anyone if you need help?
Part of your desire to run away sounds like a great adventure and the fulfilling of a certain part of you that wants to be free……..but yipe, I wish I could encourage you to find another way to get thru this rocky time in your life.
Do you know what you’d do if……just say…..
after five days in the bush with hardly any food and a tough time finding drinking water…
and some scarey stuff happening with regard to wild animals etc…..
what would you do?
You’re asking for a safe place in the woods…
well, that sounds like a campground to me,
with lots of other people.
I’m sorry that I am not giving you the help you continue to ask for with regard to running away, but I would like to thank you very much for choosing to answer my previous questions.
Please don’t bolt away without saying that you’re leaving.
We will be wondering about you and especially your safety.
I’m sad that you feel so strongly about running away from home.
I sure wish that your family life could be better.
Have you thought of any other ways that you can get thru this rough time without leaving home?
Whatever you decide to do, I {we} would very much like to hear from you again,
just to know how you are and what you’re thinking, just to know if some of your dreams are coming true so that we can cheer for you, or if they’re not turning out the way you want, so that we can keep on hugging and caring for you.
Keep in touch, okay?
2007-04-13 21:32:36 on hello im runaway soon i just cant live here any longer does anyone know a good place to run away to ?
Whatever you do, please don’t hitch hike. For example, have you heard about the ‘Highway of Tears?’
2007-04-13 21:20:48 on hello im runaway soon i just cant live here any longer does anyone know a good place to run away to ?
Dear ‘Tundra’, thanks for not getting angry with me for asking such wacky questions in my first reply to you. I was just trying to understand how someone so young could plan such an event when there are so many things to worry about, and I was also hoping to hear a response from you, that’s why I said something so silly.
Is there someone who is tempting you to run away?
I’m not trying to be nosy, it’s just that if there is someone in the shadows saying that things could be better if you ran away with him…..then you have to be even MORE careful than extra careful.
2007-04-13 21:03:49 on hello im runaway soon i just cant live here any longer does anyone know a good place to run away to ?
What are you planning on doing, eating nuts and berries in the forest, or milk stray goats in the mountains? What exactly do you think you can do after you run away, you’re so young and there are so many people in the world that can’t be trusted. How will you get *there*……do you have money for a bus ticket?
Everyone wants to run away at certain times in their lives, or if they can’t, then they might dream about doing it once in a while when they feel like they just ‘need to be free’. Unless your life is in danger, running away might bring ten times more problems into your life than you think you have right now.
Why do you want to run away?
Does this have to do with liking someone that your family does not approve of?
By the way, in my opinion, the answer above me from ‘S’ was so beautiful.
I sure hope you do a lot more thinking before you do anything like run away.
Tell us more.
2007-04-12 16:40:27 on i turn 19 in a few days but i don’t want to and
Oh dear. People tend to link *happy* with birthday’
but in your situation I’m wondering
if it would only made you feel sadder
to hear all those happy salutations.
If so, I would like to wish you
a very Interesting Birthday,
May you wake up on your birthday
and take hold of a special gift inside you
that’s waiting to be discovered….
the gift of being interested in
what you can do with the rest of your life.
I hope that your sad feelings
will be gently replaced with sensations
of hope, courage and boundless curiosity.
What are your dreams, what are your goals,
and what is making you feel so sad about
turning 19?
2007-04-07 17:47:38 on Has anyone ever had a “Near Death Experience” or know some one that has and it had a profound effect on your or their lifetime?
I couldn’t see it at the time, but the transformation started happening before the experience that I mentioned. A few months before the event I had become hungry to know what my purpose in life was. I felt *different*, more aware, more curious. I knew that something ‘big’ was going to happen to me, just couldn’t imagine that it would be that profound.
After the event, a physical and spiritual housecleaning followed. It’s impossible to *meet* God without coming away changed. *Holy* is a word I used to toss around. Not any more.
2007-04-07 17:23:27 on Has anyone ever had a “Near Death Experience” or know some one that has and it had a profound effect on your or their lifetime?
I’ve had some strange things happen to me
(I’ll save them for future posts)
but so far no ‘near death’ experience.
However, I’ve had
an incredibly intense (to put it mildly)
‘Near God’ experience.
It’s amazing that my hair didn’t turn white
like Moses when he came down from the mountain.
It’s one thing to commune with God,
but when you dial Him and he cranks up
His speakerphone so that you’re sure that
the entire neighbourhood just heard His answer,
yowza!
2007-04-07 11:15:03 on Just want to wish everybody at help Happy Easter.
(gobbling her 3rd hot cross bun)
(and who won’t be gobbling any chocolate until it
goes on sale after Sunday) :-)
Happy Easter to everyone here!
Rejoice!
2007-04-06 21:05:14 on A tip to people who feel depressed
Extremely well said Sitesurfer! I have a brother who suffers from severe depression plus bipolar…. and he’s explained to me more than once that he is quite capable of ‘lightening up and cracking a few jokes’…….and then trying to kill himself a few minutes later. It’s been many years since I’ve ever thought of trying to ‘cheer him up’. All I do now is try my best to support him with all of my heart, and of course, that means that I have to *sacrifice* my inaccurate ‘just cheer up’ thoughts about him. Depression IS a SERIOUS illness. Common sadness CAN be ‘cheered up’,,,,,,,but it’s not the same for clinical depression and other serious burdens of the mind. When the SWAT team arrives plus swarms of tv cameras, there are no *easy tips about being happy*. There are only tears streaming down many faces, tons of silent empathy, white knuckles from family & friends, and the hope that the loved one won’t bump into any friendly suggestions while he or she is trying to scrape up the will to live again.
Thank you for your pleasant tip, Livelife, but I think that it would be way more accurately and helpfully aimed at people who occasionally feel sad. There is sad, and then there is really sad, and then there is ‘way real deep down in the dumps stuff’……..and then there’s the outer fringes of depression…..plus horrific depths that most of us might never experience.
Clinically depressed people don’t need ‘tips’.
They need unconditional love.
If you meant your post to be that way,
then thank you very much and I’m sorry if I got into more detail than you cared to hear.
You said that you hoped your post helped.
And yes, yes it did, it helped me to write this response. It’s helped me as the sad and bewildered sister of a very troubled and suicidal brother. It’s helped me to say how I feel even if part of it hasn’t sounded very patient and understanding.
Here’s a sincere suggestion for you…….
you stated that ‘you’ve *always felt*………
Well maybe you will one day rethink the *always* part of that statement,
and that we can all learn a whole lot more from our continued exchange of thoughts.
Have a wonderful weekend full of all the things that bring joy and peace into your life.
2007-04-06 20:36:25 on does anyone know a site where I could see Zack Efron of High School Musical naked as in whole body. Please tell me, I really want to see please!
You sound very excited, but please, just think of how you’d feel if Zack came here and spewed something about wanting to see you in the same way. It’s one thing to be extremely excited about a person, but to beg for details as to how you can see him without clothes on,,,,,,,,well, where did you ever get the idea that he might even be posing anywhere with his clothes off? Please respect Zack and stop asking things like this at help.com. If he wanted you to see him that way, you’d end up knowing without having to ask us about it.
Do you understand what I’m trying to convey? He might be famous but he is not an object. My suggestion to you is to calmmmmmmmm down and use your imagination with regard to your original question. And don’t just use it to picture him naked. Use it in equal measure to ponder what he’s like as a person, what his beliefs might be, who he might be going out with, who he loves with all his heart, etc.
This is not a link to the National Enquirer or Star Magazine.
Have a great weekend, and if you do end up finding what you want with regard to Zack, I sure hope he had the sense to keep his underwear on while he was posing.
