Well I have been with my sweetie for about 8 months now. I guess we haven’t been together for that long because everything is still quite fresh, sharing our interests with each other (some have become mutual interests now) but I do whatever I can to make her smile. She has the most beautiful smile I have ever seen :)

Personally I think this kind of debate is ridiculous, after all comparing people killed by cigarettes and guns is just ludicrous. With the regulations against smokers (banning their advertising, not allowing people to light up inside public places, shock pictures on the packaging, etc.) Smokers know before hand what they are getting into and accept the risks of their actions. This is not true of the victims of gun violence.

As for abortions, I wholeheartedly agree that women should be allowed to have control over their own bodies, however there should be far better education into birth control and also a lot better access to contraceptives because this bulls**t of abstinence only education just doesn’t work at all.

Oh and Dr Jackson, I completely agree that having stricter punishments on rapists is an excellent idea, I would however say that the death penalty isn’t that good. If a rapist is put to death for rape it will indeed decrease the number of reported rapes per year however I would say that the number of victims who are also murdered after the rape has been committed would also increase, after all the person is going to death row anyway, why not just kill their victim too? It could increase their chances of getting away and if they do get caught then there is no more severe punishment than they would already receive.

Oh and I also agree that people who falsely accuse someone of rape should be punished harshly, because of their lie they have likely ruined someone else’s life and deserve far more than just a slap on the wrist

I’m just saying that from my own personal experience that i have never found a need for the pubic to have access to guns. I know all too well the damage they cause when they get into the wrong hands. I’m from Northern Ireland and was around when the terrorism from the IRA was still very bad. I can honestly say that i would have not felt safer with access to a gun and cannot think of a genuine reason why anyone should have access to them.

It does indeed sound crazy. If the government was going to kill you some semi automatic rifles wouldn’t really stop the tanks, drones and bombers that the military has at it’s disposal. Personally i do believe that if everyone had guns things would be far worse than they already are because far more of the mentally deranged would gain access to them.

You know putting aside godwin’s law. It doesn’t explain why most of the civilized world doesn’t need semi automatic weapons in the hands of the public. Why should America be an exception

Drat, i should proofread before i send stuff. I mean that why would anyone outside of those professions need guns at all. Most of the world seems to get on alright with the public having no access to guns.

No idea why you would ever need anything like that in the hands of the public. I actually get confused why anyone outside of professions such as farmers, hunters, military and police would actually need weapons like that
