Well i know enough to get by, I was a beta tester for Office 2010 and when i was doing some training for office administration work it was really handy to have had six months prior to it’s release to play around with it. My current computer is the 6th one i’ve built. I usually end up selling them and make a little profit, not much though i think the most i have actually made profit wise was £20 but still everyone has been happy with them.

As for teaching there is no way i could do that, i tried to teach my mother how to work my computer so she could surf the internet. After 2 months she was still confused as to how to do simple tasks. She still doesn’t believe me that you don’t need a disc in the dvd drive to “run” the internet. I ended up getting really pissed off and just installed the internet browser on the Wii her boyfriend got her.

I have made friends with a few of them. But i also feel a bit like a fish out of water, you see i’m not just the only person with pervious knowledge about computers, i’m also the only guy left in the class who didn’t drop out during the summer

Thanks Max. I’m sure i can do it this time, the first time i did the test was when i was in high school at 16, i wasn’t really used to typing then so correcting all of my errors cost me a lot of time.

The second time was at the beginning of this year. The teachers assumed i knew what i was doing since i could touch type and write some code. I had forgotten most of the layout in the 4 years since i last took it.

This time i’m going to tell them that i need some more assistance, hopefully it’ll be third time lucky :)

Mine was simply a necessary typing error. I was playing a videogame when i was younger but when i went to enter in the name i was only allowed 7 characters (I wanted Maverick because i had watched Top Gun just before that and thought it sounded cool)

My mum is into all that Zodiac stuff and when i was born she put a picture up on the wall saying stuff like my lucky colours and numbers based on my sign. That’s where the 112 came from.

I would like an office Job, i did 13 weeks of work experiance in an office as an assistant administrator.

The only thing holding me back is that i need to have a level 2 typing certificate (the thing that says that i can type quickly and in a professional manner) I can type quite quickly since i am basically on the computer everyday and have gotten used to touch typing it’s just my accuracy is not that good, like how to lay out a business letter.

Still i’m going to go and try taking it again, Since it’s only a 10 day course and i’m unemployed it’s free so why not eh?

I know what you mean here, i don’t even need to look at the rev counter to know when to change, you sort of becomes instinctive. I barely think of actually driving when i am driving anymore

Personally i would go with a Nokia, then again i have never owned a mobile phone that wasn’t a nokia but i’ve found them to be reliable

Thanks J.N, I would say that i’m close with my mum, though when it comes to actually helping people well… If she volunteered with the samaritans she would likely end up making people feel more like killing themselves. Last time i talked to her about how i felt she said “Stop being so childish and pathetic matt, your a 20 year old man start acting like one!”

Oh i don’t have any problems with my back anymore, the nerve damage was a couple of years ago and i was perscribed erm… 2x 30/500mg Co-Codamol four times a day. I was warned the codine in them was addictive so after a couple of months i noticed my hands were shaking a bit so i went cold turkey on them to avoid addiction to them. It was a very painful idea but after a while i started to get used to the pain and no longer feel it.

Like i said i’m doing a night course in the local college i thought it would be a good idea so i could meet people, i’m the youngest one there by about 30 years and for an IT course i’m the only one who actually has experiance with computers. I have to admit it feels strange when suddenly everyone wants to talk to me because i’m the only student in the room who knows how to link i database to a spreadsheet.

It also does bring me in some money for technical support. I was called out by one of them to install firefox onto their laptop. Easiest £10 i ever made :D

This is a thing… When you invited me i thought it was a setup to a joke!

omigosh that is just horrible :( i am so sorry to hear that Chloe, i can’t even begin to phathom why someone would do that to you or any child that was 4 years old. I have never been through anything as bad as that… that is just horrible but you are really sweet and thank you so much

Sorry to hear about your awful experiences. Witnessing what you did is one of the most terrifying things a child can go through. Seriously. The fact that it wasn’t directed at you doesnt matter. You were a child stuck in a terrible situation. No wonder it still haunts you. I think you could really benefit from talking therapy to help you come to terms with what happened. Gosh…that must have been extremely traumatic for you. I’m not saying you have post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) - but I do believe you have post traumatic stress. As a child and still as an adult. I had chronic childhood trauma for many years- when I dealt with it and started to heal, I was amazed at how much peace it brought to so many areas of life!

I do this with my best mate whenever we watch movies… then again we also turn off the volume and make our own dialog so i guee we’re just strange
