  i think i understand. i fell in love with a hindi girl and i’m a caucasian australian. many people thought it was not ‘right’ … that we were too different. i knew and accepted that her culture would never accept me and she knew this too. yet we continued to express our love for each other regardless.
  
  in relation to your question, i do not believe my love was based on society’s dissaproval. the only way i can think to summarise it is that i felt love towards her and during that time i wasn’t concerned with anything else.

  in my experience a guy will usually find out about a girls crush on him by her friends. it seems she has done what a lot of other friends would do, the problem is it seems she didn’t give you any warning and i’m assuming that’s why you denied your interest in him when he asked. maybe tell her that if she’s going to expose your interest in a person then she should definitely talk with you about it first, or at least give you hints.
  
  i’m not sure how the situation unfolded with your man but hopefully he approaches you again, and this time you can tell him the truth. try not to be afraid of rejection, it happens to all of us and the most important part is if you want something, you’ll never know if you don’t go after it :)
