2007-09-30 23:14:20 on I am accomplishing a lot today.
Thanks.
2007-09-30 23:09:25 on how the scarcity affects to the president of USA ?
I am an economist, so I know what scarcity is. Sorry this is still too vague to be a coherent question. Almost every resource in every economy is scarce. Very few resources are ever unlimited. This question is like asking, “How does gravity affect the pope?” In what context? Scarcity of which resources in which economies affecting which aspects of the president?
2007-09-07 21:57:51 on OK, so I moved away from the city to a quasi-suburbs area.
actually i was having the same problem. i have been here a year and it is finally starting to change a little.
2007-08-13 23:24:30 on Average temperature is the most popular factor that people take into consideration when looking for the best city to live in.
well average temperature is not the best measure. some places have high swings and some dont.
2007-07-04 01:19:01 on im thinkin of suicidal wat should i do?

2007-07-04 01:02:28 on My gf dumped me friday night.
I think if she really wanted to be with you, then she WOULD allow herself to. I’m sorry to write this stuff but I have seen this before and it was always a combination of those two things I just wrote. Everyone gets dumped sometimes. You are not alone, and you are still okay who you are.
2007-07-04 00:58:29 on My gf dumped me friday night.
It seems like she probably doesnt want to be with you, but she doesnt want to hurt your feelings, so she says it is hurting her and really hard and all that crap to make you feel better because she doesnt want you to think that she is just skipping off joyfully. She probably wants you to understand that she cares and feels bad about it, but unfortuneately she is giving you hope with her efforts to soften the blow. Another thing that might be happening is that she really does want to move on but is a little scared and doesnt want to burn bridges.
It is probably a little of both of those why she is hedging - empathy for you and fear to really step out. I am really sorry you are having this difficulty.
2007-06-26 02:14:54 on I am having a problem.
I love Adana kebab. It is the best kebab. I was in Turkey. Thanks for your reply - Tessakur.
2007-06-26 02:09:46 on i am having a very confusing moment and i need help…if God created Satan, then why dont he destroy him?
Well I am not a Jehovah’s witness and don’t believe in literal translations of the bible. The bible is a spiritual book with allegory and storytelling to communicate spiritual truths. It was not meant to be taken historically, scientifically, and literally.
2007-06-26 01:58:15 on Does anybody else always feel guilty?
Yea. Right now all of my guilt is focused on my ex-wife and how terrible I am for not sticking with her. She is such a sick b and I am such a jerk to walk out on her and life sucks. I still remember her talking about some problem and pausing and turning to me and saying, “Life sucks, you know that.” I feel like I made her life suck. And now I deserve to suffer. Seems like it would be more healthy to find some way to make amends but I dont know how. I feel trapped in guilt and pity and loss.
2007-06-26 01:48:22 on Based on Johnson and Johnson Annual report last year
are you gonna give us the link to the annual report??
2007-06-26 01:39:59 on If God Created Satan then can’t he destroy him?
It is a separate question to ask “Why doesn’t God destroy Satan?” Regardless of who created Satan. Lets look at that question. Or even more broadly why does God let good people suffer terribly.
Anyway, I do have some answers that people use for that broad question. This is probably the toughest question of all for believers in God. Here are some answers that different spiritual writers have given. Any one of these would explain it, but some are pretty unsatisfying:
1. It is really all good in the long run and we just cant see it because we are so small and finite. Even the terrible suffering and injustice is actually part of some grand and wonderful plan that will be allright in the end. Even Satan is needed as part of some wonderful plan.
2. Kharma: people are reaping what they have sown in their past actions/thoughts in this lifetime or a previous lifetime (but if God is loving and all-powerful, why doesn’t God help them to stop sowing misery that way).
3. God is the power for love; God is trying to get through to the world through us by our souls. However, God is NOT all-powerful and would prefer to stop all the things you described, but cannot because God is in a struggle to reach the world through the soul, super-ego, and finally humanity.
4. God uses pain to draw us closer to Him. (To me, this does not really explain some of the truly tragic lives that end badly -but just my opinion)
5. Even God cannot create a universe where free-will and fairness both exist. Therefore, the fact of our freedom means there will be some unfairness and unjust suffering. God chose the better of 1) fairness and 2) giving us free-will - he gave us free-will.
6. Life is just a test to get into heaven, so suffering here is nothing. (But this opens a debate about why a loving God would send anyone to hell).
7. Some just say that this is a mystery we will never know, but that somehow their is a loving, all-powerful God even though it seems to logically conflict in the way you described.
8. God does not exist.
9. God is there if we turn to him, but some just don’t turn to him. (But this is still a problem of why doesn’t God help those people to see better and help them to turn to him and be relieved.)
I agree that life is unfair and SOME people have had terrible lives even thought it was not their fault. We could take some extreme cases of child abuse to prove the point. And others we know who are totured with demons that they never overcome. Many people do make their own suffering, but not everyone. And no one really wants to be miserable. At least on some level, everyone IS trying to be OK.
Anyway, I guess I roughly believe number 3. I know too much about physics and statistics to think that there is a God that makes some people win the lottery and some people get a bunch of green lights on the way to work, and breaks someone else’e leg and gives someone else cancer. When someone gets cancer, I dont blame God, I just think that is the result of biochemical interactions. My view of God is not that He can reach down and move stuff around, or give someone cancer, but more like God is that light deep inside us that helps us to deal with things like that when they DO happen.
2007-06-26 01:34:23 on i am having a very confusing moment and i need help…if God created Satan, then why dont he destroy him?
Well I dont think God made Satan.
2007-06-25 20:24:51 on Oh come on just reply!
I dont know.
2007-06-25 20:18:46 on I would just like to know, how can I get back on track?
Well, I am not so sure that life is what you make it. That sounds so nice to say, but there are practicle limits to that. I cant be president tomorrow, etc. God is in charge and has a plan for me. It is a balance I think. To be grateful for what I have NOW, while still being open to new possibilities. Your life is coming to you. I like that.
