  It sounds like your friends have no idea of what depression is by just writing it off as “oh things will get better,everyone is sad,look on the bright side”
  When you are thinking that no bright side exists.
  I came through very serious depression,the one thing i did was persevere with things.
  You have to evaluate the problems and then think how you can get round them.
