  You could give him some deodorant and just say you noticed he didn’t have any so thought you’d get him some. The other option is to talk to him about it; it’ll be awkward at first but at least then he’d know he should do something about it, and it saves him from being in public and having people think he smells.

  Maybe you should talk to each other about your relationship problems. From what I can see, she thinks you treat her badly, and you think she treats you badly. You either need to learn to communicate better with each other or end the relationship.

  I’m going to tell you something my counceller told me. He asked me if I knew how I would kill myself, and I told him I would overdose, probably on paracetamol. He told me the thing about overdosing is it doesn’t work right away. It could be up to a week later that it takes effect and kills you, and by that time you could be feeling ok, and if not happy, at least not wanting to die. But unless you get to the hospital and have your stomach pumped within 4 hours of taking the overdose, there is no way to save you. It’s also an extremely painful way to die. I remember a friend telling ne how he had watched his uncle die from paracetamol overdose, and seeing the agony he was in and being able to do nothing about it.

  I don’t think it’s fair to lay that guilt on her either. She’s been victimised, and led to truly believe this man loves her. She doesn’t even believe he’s done anything wrong. She’s also been told she’d be branded a **** if she reported him. Would you blame rape victims for not coming forward too?

  I’m pretty attached to help.com too, I think I’ll probably keep coming back as long as the site stays open. I do go through periods where my life gets too busy to visit much, but even when life’s pretty good (like now) I like being here. It’s a lot more interesting than Facebook.

  Something I’ve learnt is that men tend to prefer useful things whereas women tend to prefer sentimental things (there are exceptions). I’ve really struggled to find something for my boyfriend this year because he wouldn’t give me any clues; he doesn’t NEED anything, therefore he doesn’t WANT anything. Maybe your boyfriend thought he was getting you something useful that you would use instead of something that would kind of just sit there and look pretty. I would probably be a bit disappointed too, though. Maybe try to drop a hint that you were expecting something more romantic?

  I think it’s ridiculous, but as someone else has said, the voting system is flawed. I read in the paper today that a lot of high up people in the church found it ridiculous, too, and they thought women should be allowed to be bishops.

  This year, it’s the people I’ve cared for who have passed on that I’ve remembered. I’ve been working in a care home for a year and a half now and have seen many people pass. They were all amazing in their own way, but were dementia sufferers. I hope they’ve finally found peace on the other side.

  Try explaining that she has moved house. This may work on some days and not on others. Many of the residents I care for want to go home, and usually the only way to keep them calm and reassured is to tell them they’re just staying with us for a few days, or for the night, and that they’ll be going home soon.
