what happens when you are reffered to someone with manic depression?

ive just found out that im not going crazy sat up here in my bedroom that i have bipolar disorder my gp has referred me to see someone about it,however i’ve not told my parents and im scared that they may open my mail. what should i do ?

I really want to volunteer abroad with the environment or animals and i cant afford it!! ?
