  You have acknowledged the effects, and are clearly self aware. You can start there. The path to knowing if you’re happy or not starts with finding out, more simply, what makes you unhappy. You’re not happy that you lie and drink. Its harder to stop lying, but there are tons of recourses to help you stop your substance habits. This is something your doctor can help you with. The reason I bring up this first is because these habits inhibit the clarity of your perception. The more sober you become, the greater awareness and therefore greater control you will have over your life, and the less moody you will be with your loved ones. As far as women go, it sounds like the women you have seen in the past are now, by way of them not knowing the real you, no longer an option if you want to change your ways. The next step is trying to be honest about who and what you are to people. It’s easy at first to lie to fit a mold, but over time those lies can become intricate webs that you can feel imprisoned by. It’s very difficult to maintain. There is no shame in needing help, but if you have too much pride, there are discreet ways to a better life.

  Allow me to begin by taking a moment to appreciate you. First, for your name. Second, for your appropriate use of one of my all time favorite words: “Pontificate.” My years of slaving over literature essays is tickled by this. That said, I agree with you that some opinions are presented as truth rather than as reflections over the issues. I have been known to write rather lengthy posts, but it is more because I care to give as thorough an answer as possible so that I might be understood more clearly than anything else. But I find there are times where I have gotten a bit big for my breeches and been more strong worded in response to other posters, not so much to the OP.

  The ACT has absolutely nothing to do with your intelligence, its a matter of knowing how to take the test. Not any test, just that one. So, don’t panic. Yes, you would always have the opportunity to take it again especially if you were considering taking a semester off because there is less pressure at that time to get applications in. I would HIGHLY suggest applying to the schools you want to go to despite this. You never know, NOTHING IS AN END ALL. I got a 22 on my act, but I also nearly dropped out my junior year, and was never more than a C student. But, because I took all the AP and advanced things I could, and had a lot of extracurriculars I got accepted to many private schools on scholarship. I wasn’t even sure I was going to graduate. Moral of the story is community college is great, but never be afraid to explore your options as far as a university is concerned. If you got good grades throughout school, and if you were active in your community in any way, there is hope for you yet. Don’t worry, at the end of the day, you will still end up going to school. Remember that, college is still school. There are going to be classrooms and students and teachers and homework. You can always transfer, and your ACT score/high school transcript are meaningless once you walk through the doors of any higher education facility, community college included.

  This is a tough one, and you hit it right on the head. There is no one definition of what love is. What you are observing is less what people expect out of love, and more what they want out of a relationship. Completely different. Its a simple matter of being able to get along with someone. Saying, “You don’t love me because you dont do x,y, and z,” is simply the adult way of throwing a tantrum about not getting what they want. Women *want* men to take care of them emotionally, men *want* to feel needed. However I myself am a living testament to the fact that getting what you want out of someone has absolutely nothing to do with loving them. For example, I dated someone who was a needy wreck who did not stimulate me in any way imaginable, but I loved him very much anyway. Onward to the next part on your question, what girls expect from guys has absolutely no one answer. Its what an individual wants from another individual. No two girls expect or want the same things from men, because no two people are the same. The only way to know what YOUR girl wants, is to ask in the best way you can. The, ” Woman, what do you expect from me!” approach tends to be relatively ineffective. The same could be said for the reverse, women have no idea what all men expect, because of the same problem. The only way for your girl to know what you expect from her is if you tell her. No one is a mind reader, and its unfair and immature to get angry with someone who is not meeting your expectations when those expectations have not been made a deliberate, mutual understanding.

  Nope, stop right there seniorita (or senior.) If you are both having issues coping with the world around you there are alternative ways of getting help. There are many help lines along with runaway shelters that offer free and discreet counseling if you dont want your parents to know. But honestly, the best thing is to tell your parents and your friends parents what is going on not because they can fix it, but they have recourses to get you the help that you need. Losing life over a bad time is hardly worth it, and waking up in the hospital after an attempt is even worse, take it from someone who has been there. I promise you that despite everything, with the right help things do look up and they do start to become worthwhile. You still have things to explore and people to meet, dont let depression and discouraging thoughts win. This is something that attacks you, and you can make the choice to defeat it. I know its hard when you feel that you are on your own, but in reality there are many people that are more than willing to help you. There is hope yet for both you and your friend.

  Maybe have the students plan a day of child care, have them come up with the activities for once, and then explain the benefits of each activity in relationship to the children’s age and mental development stage.

  Going to a gym and cycling for thirty to forty minutes will help, I don’t know about ten pounds in a week though. That’s an unhealthy rate, and honestly, you’ll gain in back when you go to america. Holiday tends to do that to us, and in American things can be worse.
