2007-02-06 15:14:50 on Ok..I have this problem.
cry, cry some more and get over it, there are 6.5 billion people on this planet and I can guarantee you that there is a better boyfriend out there. Does that fix the pain, no, but either does crying over something that was never meant to be, and if it was suppose to be, it will happen regardless

My child hood sucks, ADD/ADHD are very disruptive when not managed correctly (NOT ALWAYS DRUGS). This is what I wrote to someone else
I also have ADHD and let me first state that ADD and ADHD are benefits if they are treated properly, that doesn’t always mean drugs.
ADD and ADHD are evolution characteristics of the hunter personally; it is our survival system, it allows us to think faster and more complex then the average person. The problem is not in the ADD/HD, it is in how we understand it, treat it and surround ourselves in environments that nurture it.
We lose focus, get distracted and act out when we get bored, uninterested or have too much energy. I cannot listen to someone talk for great length about a subject that does not interest me, but I can play the same game of chess for 3 hours without blinking, simply because I am using my best God given gift, my mind.
Example One: If you are a parent of a child who was a very fast runner, would you lock him in a room or take them to a track? Of course you would take them to a track, you encourage the talents, not hinder them.
Well your AD/HD is a talent, focus on what can help, find ways to simulate their minds, if we find something that interests us, we usually hyper-focus, and can spend hours fixated on what ever activates is exercising the mind.
I have found great benefit from drinking coffee (stimulant), and lots of it, a pot in the morning at least. In addition, I exercise to release the energy that gives me the overactive behaviours and finally, I try the find ways to engage my mind, not limit it.
Hope this helps someone out there,
Jason
