• There’s this really annoying guy (kinda my friend) on AIM and he keeps IMing me every single second.
  

  honesty is always the best way, tell him that you value him as a friend and that you want to help but that you do have other things to do as well, maybe set up a time to go out for coffee where you can give him one on one advice/attention but until then you have to have some space to keep the relationship between the two of you intact. you dont want to lose your friendship because of something accidently said when he was being too dependant.

• Is it shame, or just lack of ability, that keeps you from having and expressing deeper thoughts?
  

  Deep thoughts show more about the individual then shallow ones. To share a deep thought makes you more vulnerable to those hearing it as it exposes a piece of yourself whether you want it to or not. Sometimes its not worth shareing them as those around you may not understand you and the revelation about yourselve given with the piece of information may be more damaging then the insight learned had the point been recieved.
