Go for a long walk.
Start a diary.
Cook some yummy food.
Take a bubble bath.
Write a list of 10 things that make you happy.
Ring a friend and invite them round for a glass of wine.
Pamper yourself.
Go to the library and get a good book out.
Look up something random on Wikipedia and then go study it, using other websites.
Sing.
Answer someone else’s problems on here.
Any of the above!

I would maybe suggest some professional help… “Relate” is a charity that works through family problems. You can call them and ask advice, or go along to one of their centres with your daughter and your man and work through it with a professional.
I dated a man 10 years my senior for 2 years. It was a wonderful relationship and the age difference was NOT the reason we split. Luckily for me, my parents were very understanding… but some of my friends were not. However: once we’d been together for a while and they saw how happy we were, they started to accept it.
Good luck :)

This is going to come over as flippant, but I’m not trying to be: Why do you ‘need’ a gastric bypass? Could you not just eat less?
If you do actually NEED a gastric bypass, your doctor will be able to get you one for free on the national health service. However, if you’re just overweight and you can’t be bothered dieting, you won’t be given your gastric bypass for free. It is not a ‘quick-fix’ situation, it is not for people who just can’t be bothered to go on a diet…
Look, I’m a little sensitive about this particular subject… I’ve had a friend that’s been thorugh it, and she’s had a lot of flack for taking what is percieved as the “easy option” when that couldn’t be further from the truth…
Ok… so the advice bit: You clearly need to go to the Doctor. Not just about a solution for your weight, but also because I think you need to talk to someone about all this stuff getting on top of you. The doctor can give you some advice, and give you the number of a professional that can help you with all aspects of your life.
