2012-08-19 23:23:42 on Are my employers breaking the law?
That would be illegsl for them to do, they’re probably trying to exploit your possible lack of knowledge about laws and regulations.
Your employer has to provide you with paid holidays by law, they don’t rely on how much you worked the other week because that’s a separate pay - holiday pay, has nothing to do with your work hours. The amount of pay/hours that you’re contracted to, that’s how much ecactly they must pay you, no more and no less. Less would be illegal too.
If they would try to screw you over and there are no HR people to sort this matter out with, there’s always an employers tribunal; but it’s only when all of your attempts to resolve the matter internally in the company have failed.

Nigeria calling code is 234
2012-07-29 13:26:41 on He said take my wife !
That’s a bit too crazy to be taken as it is.
The guy is either a complete scumbag or it’s an elaborate ruse to get something to hold against you just in case you would ask for money again. Such as “if you won’t forget about the money then the woman will go to the police and report kidnapping and rape” or something. Such schemes happen a lot more often than one may think.
Either way - refuse the offer, forget about it and forget about these people. Don’t contact them again, ever. For your own safety and wellbeing.
2012-07-29 08:25:35 on can anyone think of any original super powers for super hero characters i want to create?
Oh my gosh. No wonder those came to mind! I already knew they were powers lol.
well, how about to ability to eat farts?
Well, that would fall into the category of “ridiculous”.
Eat farts, snort broken glass (The power to snort live kittens has been used though), the ability to hear yourself think (though used in a list of “100 useless superpowers to have”) etc.
The Spleen (Mystery Men); ability to manipulate bodily gasses. So technically he can generate some noxious farts and eat them too, since he’s the only one unaffected by the horror smell. Maybe eating them and passing them through his system again would magnify the smell or something.

But none of them are original, Allthemessylove. :/
to create light. to take away light. (Admiral Kizaru, (One Piece))
to be able to touch things and see where they came from, who else touched them, etc.
to turn crystals into energy. (Abe, Hellboy))
identify noises in a really high frequency. (Daredevil, (Marvel Comics))
touch someone and switch bodies with them. (Jen, (Misfits))
touch someone and switch emotions with them. (Johan Liebert (Monster))
touch someone and get access to their minds, hearts, emotions. (Jean Grey (X-Men))
touch someone and turn them into animals or something. (Bwana Beast (DC Comics))
be able to fix something broken but touching it. (Some minor character in the X-men universe)
unlimited force in one hand (good for smashing things) (Superman, Darkseid (Marvel Comics)
ability to make your body parts fall off/regrow/grow bigger/shrink (Meteor Man (Galaxy Trio)
ability to make your hair grow longer (Kumadori (One Piece)
ability to make others fall asleep by blowing in their eyes (Sandman (European folklore)
ability to breathe toxic air (Omega Red (X-men)
ability to turn other peoples thoughts into real things (Protheus (X-men)
ability to jump through time, not space. (this one doesn’t make sense to me; but generally - anyone in a time machine)

The level of imagination of an average human is pretty, well, average.
People who write and invent for comicbook (and anime/manga) industry have much higher levels of imagination. And that industry has been rolling for decades already.
SO, basically what that means is - it would be pretty dang hard to think of something that hasn’t been thought of already and used on more than one occasion. Unless it’s something REALLY stupid.
Just use whatever you want to use, chances of coming up with something truly unique are slim to none.
2012-07-26 01:39:54 on Identify this movie please.
Pkoim, give me at least 3 good reasons why I should even think about sponsoring anybody but myself.
Usually banks require more than 3 reasons so my request is very reasonable.
Someone said on television yesterday that all the countries which have strict gun law don’t have as many shooting incidents as in the US. Any connection?
There are numerous factors in place when trying to figure out such a thing.
The wealthier the country the less violence there is.
The more culture there is for the people the less violence there is.
The better education - the less violence.
I’m originally from a country where guns are outlawed and to own one you have to both pay a lot and pass numerous tests, and you will still be unable to use it lawfully in a public place; you will simply be “granted the privelege” of legally owning a gun. And yet levels of violence and crime in that country beat levels of USA by a landslide. All because people are unhappy to the extreme.
2012-07-24 03:31:22 on .
If noone had a gun then he would’ve stabbed a bunch of people or simply blew up the whole place.
People will ALWAYS find ways to arm themselves no matter what the government would do.

Everybody should have guns :3
If half the people in that movie theater had guns that batman shooter would’ve been riddled with bullets after he would shoot only a couple of people.
Well, that does kinda make sense to me…
Kinder surprise… kids can swallow toys inside, can grow even more obese on chocolate, additional waste from plastic capsules with toys inside and foil wrappers.
Pros… none.
—
Guns… people can kill other people with them, can kill themselves with them, can cause property damage.
Pros… people can defend themselves with guns, market for weapons brings big profit in taxes for the government, handling a gun is a very handy skill if a war would suddenly happen; that way if a country-wide draft would be instated then all the new recruits would already be able to fire a weapon.
Plus, people will always use weapons. Outlaw guns and the black market on them will boom, also people will simply switch to knives. Might aswell keep guns legal and make lots of money on taxes.

Try running together with him to keep him motivated.

Not every case of depression is the same.
Some people have the willpower to pull through on their own.
Some people pull through just because they’re terrified that they might actually die.
And some people die.
If pulling through was doable for you on your own that doesn’t mean it’s also should be possible for him aswell. Maybe he needs significantly more time, effort and help.
Putting pressure on the person just because you’re thinking that it’s taking too long is not helping, it’s the opposite. It can last for years for some people.
2012-07-24 00:59:46 on I never thought a living hell existed
So you got friends, enough free time to do horseback riding and also ability to afford it, ability to afford a vacation, can stay in bed on a work day of the week… and also your friends are still there even if you feel disconnected….
Ok, can I move in into your hell please?
2012-07-24 00:51:00 on I can’t bear my husband right now.
If ‘depression = pathetic’ is your position on depression then yes, you’re uncompassionate.
