We’re Waz and Lenny from Crash Test Kitchen, the cult hit video podcast and blog (as featured in Time magazine). We were asked to join Help.com and add our knowledge to the pot, so to speak. The show can be watched on a video iPod. We started video blogging (what has since become podcasting) in April 2005, posting short videos of our kitchen exploits to the web. We thought there were just too many cooking shows with professional chefs whose recipes always turn out right (and even then they resort to the “one we prepared earlier” stashed in the fridge or oven). In reality, things go wrong for the home chef. We make mistakes at Crash Test Kitchen, we improvise, we cheat, and we’re not afraid to show the consequences.
We started making CTK while living in Edmonton, Canada, last year. Then, before moving to London, we took CTK on a road trip across the country, all the way out to Newfoundland. We cooked and produced episodes along the road, operating entirely out of our van. You can find the “Canadian Safari” episodes at the site or in iTunes. There is also an extensive archive at the site of previous episodes dating right back to our beginnings.
