• What do you do when you feel depressed and can’t
  

  When I feel that way, I write my feelings in a journal. The next time I feel depressed, I read what I wrote the previous time and laugh because my issues then were so different than my issues now, and so will my issue be in the future.

  You go to Skid Row and see the quality of life those homeless people have, and realize they have not lost the will to live. Or you can go to the welfare office, and see how the lower class manages to live on such little money. Then you can go home and see everything you have that they don’t and realize that life isn’t so bad. There’s over 6.5 billion people on this planet. I’m pretty sure you’ll find someone else.

  You’re welcome. Just so you know, you are not alone. I’ve been in your situation plenty of times and things will get better. As a matter of fact, you will get to a point that you just want to get away from some of the people you know and just have some solo time to yourself.
  
  Be careful though. The harder you try to meet someone, the more likely it is that you are going to meet the wrong person. The best friends in my life are those I’ve met casually and unexpectedly.

  Sounds to me like your more bored than lonely. Not every friend can respond to your correspondence immediately. You will just have to have some patience and value any response you receive at all.
  
  In the meantime, try to find things to do that will keep you occupied. Try not to spend too much time holed up in your home if you have a choice. Do your homework at Starbucks instead of your bedroom, or go to the museum or an art gallery when there’s a new opening. Also consider doing some volunteer work if you like animals or old people or something of the sort. You’ll be surprised at how many people you meet when your not actually trying to meet people.
  
  I’ve lived in NY, CO and currently in CA and I didn’t know more than one or two people each time I’ve moved. I’ve met so many people through my travels, but I’ve come to realize not everyone will keep in touch as much as I would like. But you know what, it’s the one or two that you meet that you create such a strong bond with that you will always be able to get in touch with. Even that person may not get back to you right away, but you know they will eventually, and that should make you feel good.
  
  For those times you feel the need to express yourself immediately, this website is a great resource. Not all replies are intelligent or insightful, but there’s always someone listening.

  That is the reason we a jet planes and computers today because somebody thought “there must be a better way to do this”.
  Inventing new guns that kill more/faster or easier is not what I mean here.
  
  I still have not heard one valid point to keep guns in the public domain.

  I think that one major issue in this argument is that those who are anti-gun do not accept the fact that not seeing a reason to own a firearm is not the same as there not being a reason to own a firearm. Just because you do not see the reason does not mean that it does not exist.
  
  I do agree that the 2nd Amendment does not apply now as much as it did when it was written and it should not be the sole reason to own a firearm, although the fact stands that it is our constitutional right at this time. Hypothetically speaking, if guns were illegal and I lived in an environment where crime was high and criminals all had guns, I would still own one for protection. This is basic survival. If I had the option of eliminating all the guns on the planet, I would but that’s not going to happen. There will always be guns, and if the criminals have guns then so will I. Imagine what would have happened if we never developed our own arsenal of nukes during the Cold War. The threat of mutually assured destruction is probably the most effective deterrent of violence.
