I don’t know what’s up, just Christmas, so I followed your name’s advice to “breathe”, briefly, then I remembered to “don’t panic” for a minute, and everything was slightly okay, so I wondered what the next step is.
You’re most welcome =) I’m glad that what I said was of some help. I hope things are improving for you, and any time you want to talk just shout me. I’m not around exceptionally often, but I will reply once I’m here.
Really? Hmm. Interesting. I normally try to make things better not because I’m worried it will end up poorly, but because it saddens and pains me and I want to remove that pain for others as well as quickly as possible. But you probably don’t have much to worry about in the long run, if it’s as you said =)
Indeed =P You apply for so many because that’s what it takes, and then they finally catch up to you, haha ^^ It took a month with the application for job I have now and that is considered very fast, apparently. Good luck with it. It sounds like a fun experience.
Ahh. Never heard of them before now, as far as I remember ^^
Out of curiosity, where does your new profile picture come from? ^^ I knew a girl once who looked similar to that, and I always thought the look was an interesting style.
I’m very glad to hear that. =) Have you noticed that you’ve been able to help throughout the process at all in some ways?
Interesting. I have not reached that point yet. I shall have to try harder in the future, I imagine. Kudos for being able to get there and keep at it ^^
Haha. Nice. But isn’t that much better than the reverse: having no job offers? ;) It’s all right if you get more offers than you can accept. Tell them that you’ve found something else that you’re interested in focusing on, but if things change in the future you’ll keep them in mind =) You never burn bridges, you only hold off on them until future need. Of course if they find someone to fill the job it won’t be open anymore, but you have time.
Happiness is a trait that adds greatly to chance of survival, but isn’t absolutely necessary ^^
and animation is like, the best job ever. I mean, I’ve never had it before…but in my mind I can’t picture anything better. I’ve heard of Disney and Pixar and high up places like that giving internships/scholarships and they always need more people, or something like that.
But I think it would just be the funnest thing ever, so you should go become a famous animator and then when you get an awesome job put in a good word for me :)
It’s good that you are inspired by others :) It really does help you develop your own style in an easy way…I on the otherhand get sometimes discouraged…but there’s no reason for it! College kid art is the best kind of art ever, because it’s all so raw and everyone is developing.
Discussing art with others is probably the best thing you can do besides actually make art to help get a better grip on your own style.
I agree with you about true art. Photography, design, fashion, media, everything has art in it…but true unfiltered art is creation…I would go as far to say that woodwork falls in that category! Maybe I think that because I just have so much respect for someone who can turn wood into something amazing.
But i think why humans like art so much (why some humans I mean) is because we admire creation…we’re creative by nature.
I’m glad my super long novel didn’t make you throw your computer out a window haha :) I am kind of in the process of falling in love with art! If you ever put some pictures on here of your work you should let me know and I’ll check it out:)
I love drawing cartoony things! I assume that’s what you mean by comics/characters. I love all the different kinds of art that goes into animation, like in different movies for example. No animated movie looks the same. And I love making my own style.
You should start drawing again!
I would STRONGLY recommend doing it as frequently as possible. Because with art, the only way to make progress is to work at it and work at it and work at it. Granted, there are days when it’s better to take a few steps back than forward, but still. Draw everyday - get a sketch book or just collect loose paper around the house and doodle. The more you do it, the better you get!! lol.
Some people think of true art as photograph like images…so detailed and exact that it could be passed off as a photo. I beg to differ. I think that is an extreme expression of real skill, talent, and practice. I think it is considered art, but not the definition. I think art can be messy. I think art can be simple. I think art is what you make it. So when you work on your art being detailed and realistic, don’t limit yourself to possibilities. I mean, if it’s your style to be as detailed and real as possible then I say go for it! But broaden your horizons and work on different styles/skills also…you may be surprised the first time you pick up watercolor/ink/charcoal. (very general, basic forms of art but I can’t think of anything else right now lol)
sorry to go off on such a rant…I’m just in a thinking mood.
Even if that worked and they got back together to make you happy, it wouldn’t last. If they’d have been doing it for your sake, they’d have the same problems underneath and it’d fall together sooner or later. You have to fix the root causes to most problems, not patch the surface. But it’s a hard thing to go through =(
Ah, I see. Excellent work for being able to stick through it. ^^ Can’t have been easy. I’m pretty sure I don’t have the willpower necessary to do such a thing.
Very nice ^^ Indeed. Life is better when you challenge yourself and add new things to it every day. You adapt and grow stronger through it. =) I hope the interview goes well. Though, regardless of the outcome of it, it’s extremely useful. The more experience you get with them, the better they go. Have you been applying for quite a few jobs, then?
True. Quality of friendships trumps the number of friendships.
“Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art, like the universe itself (for God did not need to create). It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things which give value to survival.” - C.S. Lewis (The Four Loves)
I am ^^ So are my friends and family. =) Not sure if God is, heh. Probably. He cares far more about me than I do.
Yes. Although, on the other hand, while you are doing well it means you have a possibility of bringing some of that positivity into their lives. I learned while I was still fairly young that my parents are not infallible and often even need my help.
Oh? Workout regime? What kind and for what purpose? I’m not very familiar with them ^^
It really gets so ridiculously better after high school ^^ Never completely easy of course (which would be boring), but often better and better even with the difficulties. 3 is an excellent start. Although even if you don’t need more, it helps to keep making more as well. Just in case ^^ Probably even just one really good friend is all anyone ‘needs’ =P
Thank you. It is very amazing, and it makes me very thankful for the help I’ve had in my life. I hadn’t expected to work so soon, nor to graduate while I was still 20 ^^
Aww. I hope that does not bring you down a lot. Because your life is starting along a very good path. I believe it’s in God’s plan for this to be the year you start to excel even more than in the past. Although there are no guarantees on that, I imagine it will *at least* be very good for you ^^
Excellent! =) It’s always nice to be surrounded by good people. Good friend material? :D
Doing pretty well. I finished university for good about two months ago, and I’ve been working full time as an electrical engineer from a month ago till now =) I’m in Germany for job training at the moment ^^
How about yourself? Been enjoying your summer break before the upcoming best year of your life? ^^
Wow, that was a really wonderful shout that you left me. It’s the nicest thing that I can remember anyone saying. I’m going to have to read it a few times before I know something else to say.
Thanks for your note, I’m sure you know that I am so glad to see it.
“An open mind is like a fortress with its walls unguarded, and its gates unbarred.” ^^ There are some differences that should not be tolerated, but there are many others that can be. I try to look to the root causes of things, the underlying motivations. Although I don’t always succeed.
Most likely. It might even take some major catastrophe for the country to change =/
Haha. Why would there be a drama club if there were no plays? And if you play sports in high school and it’s anything like the sports at my high school were, everyone is focused on winning and not on having fun. It was far too competitive. Even junior high school was.
Ah well ^^ It’s good to know, anyways. I hope we can change things again and challenge people more.
What are you going to do over this summer break while you wait for school to start again?
I can rock it. In fact a girlfriend nicknamed me Big Daddy about 25 years ago and she and all her friends called me that for about three years. I was the original studmuffin… ha!
I know… everyone freaks out when I try to change my name. It is like coming home from school and your mom has moved all the furniture in the house. Suddenly everything is not right in the world. It makes your skin crawl….
It was pretty cool to have multicultural experience =) Technically I’m originally from the United States. However, when I was 3 (before I was old enough to remember things) my parents moved to Kazakhstan. They were missionaries, humanitarians, counselors, that sort of thing. Then my grandfather became ill, and somebody who was part of the missionary organization disliked our family and was trying to us kicked out, so we moved back to America. At least I had English as my primary language, and am an American originally, so nobody ever gave me problems with being from somewhere else. But I didn’t fit in. As you mentioned, I didn’t relate much to people my age ^^
My policy is that anyone who can speak at least two languages doesn’t deserve to be called stupid by someone who can only speak one. :D
Yeah, I’m not really sure when that started, or why, but Americans could do a lot more if they had the challenges and tried harder. Ah well =/
Yes, that makes sense. People don’t see the overlap between their education and their hard work ethic paying off. I’ve gotten to go to college and learned things that are actually pretty fun. But high school was boring.
Really? Interesting documentary. I’ve always thought people a while ago were challenged more, but hadn’t found proof of it.
Haha. Very well =)
Right. Also, it’s demoralizing to see people focused on less important things when their focus should be on other things.
=) It’s always best to learn more about people and gain experience.
Haha. That’s true. I think partying is a waste of time and not as fun as a lot of other things, but that’s my opinion. I’m pretty sure that you will enjoy it a lot more though.
Neither, actually. ^^ I grew up in another country, so when I moved to the U.S. it took me a while to fit in. And it didn’t help that I went to a different high school every year, as my family moved around a lot. Where I grew up I wasn’t terribly smart, but Americans aren’t challenged as much as they should be, so their schooling system is very easy and I was already a few years ahead.
I’ve also had a lot of bad things happen to me in my life so I’ve matured fast and skipped what a lot of people do as they’re growing up.
No worries =) I wouldn’t ask if I didn’t want to know =P
That makes sense. I’m sorry that you didn’t get along as well with them and felt left out. I have to warn you, though, that sometimes you can’t wait for other people to talk to you, but you have to start talking to them first. Sometimes it’s not because people won’t care about you, but they think that they are expecting your desire for privacy or being left alone. ^^ I don’t know why they’d think that, but some people do. Some other people truly just aren’t friendly, but most people are at least all right if you talk to them first. I’m not sure why that is, but people are like that.
At least it was good experience as you mentioned, though. That will be helpful ^^
Yeah, being in drama will be a lot of fun. And your other interests will be too if you keep pursuing them and getting involved. College is often what you make it to be.
Ah, okay. I understand. Then for you this chance to start over will be great indeed. I wasted my time though. In high school the good people were scared of me, the pathetic people were annoying, and I was too many years ahead in school so I didn’t learn much, heh.
Oh? How come? Are you going to be getting a better one as soon as you can, then?
Right. Although I don’t care much to be around other engineers necessarily ^^ But I did get to be around some other people in college I fit in well with though.
It probably will be. Although whether or not people do interact with each other depends on them oftentimes. There’s always an opportunity to get to know people, but you have to take it =)
I concur ^^ High school is still such a waste of time.
Indeed =) One day at a time, a person’s life makes them stronger. The debts I have are not too bad. ^^ I got a few scholarships, and I worked to graduate quickly.
That does sound like an interesting career to choose. I hope that you’re able to do well in it. So they have a program there that will allow you to meet other people in the same field with the same interests?
Yeah, college is a pretty awesome experience, in my opinion. Far better than high school ^^
Indeed. I have had to mature fast in my life; I skipped parts of my childhood ^^
That’s awesome! Congratulations on all of those things =) The feeling of being successful and getting everything done and accomplished is a great one, I’ve found.
Yeah, I didn’t miss anyone or anything about high school either. The people there were fairly immature ^^ the nice people, and the good people, they were hard to find. They kept to themselves, mostly, which is too bad. And when I got to college I got to meet awesome people. There are still some annoying people, but you don’t have to deal with them if you don’t want to.
I am =) And I see you are still here! ^^ I graduated college, finally. It took a long 4.5 years. Thankfully, I started during high school, so I’m only 20 right now ^^ I’m looking forward to starting my career.
How have things been for you lately?
