Green Day is mainstream punk. It’s understandable that a serious fan of their’s wouldn’t recognize other genres.

Alice Cooper has been beheading himself and then returning from the dead on stage since the 70’s. Kiss made a movie, with themselves as superheroes. Pink Floyd made an animated musical.

I love everything Type O ever did, with the exception of Peter’s death earlier this year. Their sound is purely unique. Many have attempted to imitate, but none successfully. He was a deep bass baritone, and everything they ever played was in b flat. The sound is romantic, heartbreaking and dark.

It depends. If he’s as crazy about animals as I am, then it doesn’t necessarily mean that he doesn’t love you.

I love my boyfriend/hubby. We’ve been together for almost 14 years. But my cats are my kids, and he’s known that since the first week that we knew each other. They all live indoors. If he put one of them outside, where it would almost surely be hit by a car, (because they have no experience at all being outside), I’d drop him like a rock. I’d cry, and I’d miss him, but he’d have to work his tail of to make it up to me if he ever wanted to live with me again.

Something that is insignificant to one person can be incredibly important to another.

You’ve been with him seven years. If his cats are really important to him, you must have known that. - If they’re not, then Nmm is right, and he’s just an @ss.

Frankly, I’ve given you all you that I have to offer in the way of advice; and so have a few other people here.

What good is all the advice in the world if you aren’t willing to even *try* any of it?

“I just can’t seem to” sounds to me like you just don’t want to. If you truly, genuinely CAN’T do any of the things that we’ve suggested, then you ARE disabled. If, on the other hand, you CAN, and you just don’t WANT to, that nobody’s fault but your own, and nobody can fix it but you.

It sounds to me like you’re saying that either someone has to give you the perfect answer, that will solve all of your problems without asking you to do anything that you don’t want to do; or you’ll kill yourself.

If that’s the case, I’m throwing in the proverbial towel, because there is no such help. There is no way to get anything you want in life without doing something that you don’t want to do; unless you’re either born into or win millions of dollars.

Type O Negative was never about appealing to the mainstream, or anyone’s parents. They marketed themselves toward a particular subculture, and in that subculture they remain the best there has ever been.

Green Day, on the other hand, is about as unique as a Happy Meal and just about as popular because of it. Which is great, if being popular is what you want.

Men in prison for a long time change. His feelings for you are probably both; he’s not merely lonely but isolated. Because of his circumstances he’s reaching out to you more than he would otherwise, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s ‘just’ because he’s incarcerated.

I can tell you when he gets out, after a little while of readjusting to his freedom, he won’t be the same as he is right now. He won’t be able to help it. That doesn’t mean he isn’t sincere now, or that it can’t possibly last long term; but you should be very cautious.

What’s keeping you there? Are you emotionally stuck, financially stuck, or being physically held against your will?
