and according to the verbiage in the FAQ’s, “guidelines”. Either there’s been a change in the English language I don’t know about or some are stretching their authority, because there is no similarity between “guidelines” and “rules”.
Please read the Terms of Use, both of them, more clearly as it states:
“We have the right, but not the obligation, to take any of the following actions in our sole discretion at any time and for any reason without giving you any prior notice:
‘’ ‘’
6. Establish general practices and limits concerning use of our sites.”
The FAQs contain many of those general practices and limits.
OK… whatever. I respectfully disagree with the process; “when she is told not to do something, she apologizes and stops the behavior”; perhaps but for how long? How many times are you all willing to “tell” her? Your process is like locking way all the free range livestock, because there is a wolf loose on the range. The wisdome would be to get rid of the wolf. Oh well…never mind… I’ll stay quiet, else you ban me.
KT, I’m just curious. Why is DaniHatesYou still a member of this site? Her very screen name makes people defensive, then she berates or complains about everything in the posts making others even more aggressive. Most of her posts are closed or are asked to be closed. Instead good people are banned for standing up to her, why - simply because they refuse to cave in to the demands of the admin/mod staff here even if they know they are right? I try not to be judgemental to Dani, I even told her I was proud of her in her Christmas post and I am sincere in that… but trouble surrounds her always. One would think you all would see the pattern by now. Anyway, just a rant… sorry to take up your shout box.
~Richard
I realized after I wrote it, it’s no longer the case, so it’s a moot point. Thanks KT for noticing, I apologize for misspeaking, although it was the way for bit, it is no longer.
hey KT… I don’t know if Ken told you.. but I’ve got problems with my Notices…. it says I have 17, (and I’ve had 17 all night), but when I go to the notices page there is nothing there… just a blank page with on line “You have no notices”. It doesn’t even show any of the old ones.
just a suggestion (’cause I don’t know where else to post it) Perhaps the webmaster could add some navigation links at the bottom of the post. Since the newest reply is always at the bottom (which seems a little screwy to me… but whatever) the nav button’s or links at the bottom instead of all the way back at the top would be helpful. (i.e. Notice/Shout/Invite/Unsubscribe/Subscribe
No reply necessary unless you’d like to discuss or have questions about what I mean. :)
thanks ~Richard
I’m hoping you can help me. My last post did not show up on the main page, and I’m not sure why…is it because of the title? How may I edit it so that it shows up. It is basically a reply to one of my previous posts… post in question…
KT~ I truly appreciate all that you do, but I will stand for myself as well. I spoke to the different reasons for my censorship AND banning… not just my banning. 3 differnt reasons… 1) censored because my reply was beyond the scope of the questions (I respectfully disagreed) 2) censored because I told member ‘god was pissed’ at him, which I did, but that statement taken out of context, and you know the full post was functional. 3) banned for breaking TOS and giving out someones email… and you know the only email I gave out was my own (dozons of people do that without getting banned) and Cnet’s … a very PUBLIC email. In terms of letting this rest, I am making replies only. I am not making any posts to this nature (my first post upon returning from the ban was a thank you post). I truly appreciate what you are trying to do… it is best for help.com to sweep this all under the carpet, but I don’t easily sit down when someone tells me I’m wrong, when I feel I’m right. No one here, not even you (and you are the ONLY one that has told me anything) has given me any specifics. who’s email did you suspending me for? Am I forgetting something? Am I wrong about my email or CNET’s? Why was I censored, and I had to complain to get the untolerant post (religious freaks) censored? I’m sorry but I don’t see this as anything but an avalanche that happened to the admins here, and now they are trying to dig themselves out. I’m not interested doing anymore than I’ve done already… but don’t ask me to take it on the other cheek when my integrety is being questioned (I’m not that strong a Christian).
The post is closed as it clearly states on the bottom of the page. The user did not call you names directly and I closed the post to prevent further altercations. You agreed to our TOS when you joined the site and as this is a privately-owned web site, we are welsome to moderate messages and post as we see fit.
Thank you for the explination. I respectfully disagree with you, and feel this act of administration was way off base.
Further the post remains open, and I’ve received no satisfaction for having been refered to as a freak for my spiritual affiliactions. If the entire thread is not closed in 15 minutes. I will bring this matter to the attention of CNET, and to the local press.
This is America, and I have been censured for a helpful reply, where as defamatory comment about my reply has been allowed to remain online. This arbitrary method of administration is completely unacceptable.
Sincerely ~
Richard Hills.
