  I have been checking on my problem by going to the AVG site (free version) and have read quite a lot of helpful information by other users (Free Forum). When I added AVG for the first time version 8.??? a long time ago, I never really considered (or knew) how to disable the other “internet security systems” that I had loaded onto my system previous to the AVG install.
  
  Right now, I think I have AVG version 9 something, I have CC (Crap Cleaner), I have the the internet explorer firewall do-hicky thing turned on or enabled, and I think I might even still have Spy-Bot installed but not running (not sure if I have deleted that one or not?).
  
  Well, unfortunately the recommended procedure as described in the AVG free forums is to remove (not just disable, but remove any other anti virus, spyware detection, or whatever else you may have that protects your registery from an outside full-frontal assault, or a “back-door” trojan.
  
  This is a bummer since I do not know very much about this kind of stuff. I wish it would all go away and come back fixed you know? I dont understand why I can’t have it be like it has always been in the past, where everything seemed (to me anyway) to sort of work together each on its own turf so to speak.
  
  So, I have to decide first, do I want to get rid of the other protections, 2) which ones do I get rid of, 3) how do I get rid of them?
  
  I forgot to add, I also have some sort of free AOL system checkup tool installed as well.
  
  I imagine that you probably have the same situation going on with your system?

  I wonder if I should just leave well enough alone and let my system ride along using the current version of AVG? It auto-updates ok by itself, and Oh, by the way, this AVG software really works! I cannot tell you how many times it has literally saved my computer from being thrown out my bedroom window after I have contracted a trojan virus “planted” into my system by some jerk who was wanting to sell me their fool-proof “ani-virus” medication! Bunch of snakes!
