Would you keep the gun a loved one committed suicide with? posted (2 years, 5 months) ago

Having issues keeping a jade plant alive. posted (2 years, 5 months) ago
I’m not really sure what I’m doing wrong, I’ve googled this quite a bit, but all…
I’m a married bisexual woman and totally content with my monogamous relationship. For me it’s not so much an issue of I need to be with both men and women, it’s that I am attracted to both and so can be happy with either. More like I can love the person for who they are and the anatomy is great either way. If that makes sense? I don’t feel deprived in anyway because I married a man. The only thing I really do that’s “bi” anymore, is my husband and I will point out cute girls in movies together, my only regret is that he isn’t bi also so that we could point out cute men as well (^.^). I really don’t want to have a 3 some, because it has the potential to cause complications.
Thinking that a bisexual woman isn’t satisfied because she is only with a man, is similar to thinking a heterosexual woman would be unsatisfied because she is only with *one* man.
no need to respond. he just wanted to let you know he has strong feelings for you but doesn’t feel the need to say i love you yet. gotta be the right timing. it’s a good thing and you should be flattered. smile and hug always works for my relationship and usually a kiss :)
This is exactly how I would have interpreted it.
even if you put it in cement it could still be salvaged. if you were gonna do that i’d go with the melting it down post or something..[/quo
Melting it down seems like it would be difficult to arrange. If there’s an easy way to do that I would be open to it, but honestly by the time it was discovered, dug up, and salvaged, I would probably be long dead myself and beyond caring.
At least that’s my current thought. I seem to have a different opinion every hour.

I wasn’t able to get a hold of the officer today, but I left a message so hopefully he will call me back soon. I’ll post an update when it’s settled.
There was an anon post about keeping it and stumbling across it in a back room and being hit with bad emotions all over again, I think that is another serious problem with keeping it.
If the police will destroy it I’m leaning towards letting them do that, if they will auction it I think I may get it back, encase it in cement and bury it.
Thank you all for the many, many helpful ideas. Thank you for also being willing to help with what is really just a small detail, but is something that is very hard for me. I appreciate it.
Get this book:
“On grief and grieving” by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

Look for a local bereavement support group. Many have subgroups for death by suicide.
Right now you are still in action/distraction mode… your feelings are going to be pretty fluid. Get the back and go to a group and look after yourself. This whole gun thing is just a big distraction for everyone.
You know another great tip is to buy a journal and write letters to your dead loved one. You can “keep the lines of communication open” until you’re ready to stop.
Thank you for these suggestions. I will look into them. The journal is especially appealing to me. There was a lot left unsaid.

Thanks again for the replies everyone. He was cremated so it can’t be buried with him. I am going to call the police tonight, since the officer in charge comes in at 7pm. They will take the bullets, but I wanted to find out if they auction or destroy the gun, it probably won’t change our decision, but I wanted to know.
Thank you again. It has been very helpful to read the differing way to think about this.
